WCOOP 2012: Jason Mercier Wins Event #64: 8-Game High Roller ($253,425)

PokerStars' World Championship of Online Poker Event #64: 8-Game High Roller came to an end a few hours ago. 93 players particapted and PokerStars can't be more happy with the outcome as Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier ($253 425) won the tournament and Daniel Negreanu finished 3rd for $130 200.

In total, 12 players received a piece of the prize pool, including famous players such as Niki "RealAndyBeal" Jedlicka and Sorel Mizzi. Sweden's very own Viktor "Isildur1" Blom also took part in the tournament, but unfortunately he didn't make it to the money. In total, Blom has played 15 WCOOP events and not cashed in a single one of them. Let's hope he has better luck at the nosebleed tables this week!

It's good to see Jason Mercier winning such an important event like this, he is one of those young promises who have a lot to give to the game and this victory will help on his way in every ways. About Izildur1, looks like he is more adapted to the HU games, although things don't always run the way he liked. But everyone as rainy days every now and then on his carreer, and this may be just one of those for Blom.

Cannot help but be suspicious of PS hosting their own endorsers...*conspiracy!!!!*

That's pretty awesome though, I think Mercier's a top player and will continue to do well. Blom never cashed..not surprised lol.

He won the PCA high roller event and finished 16th in the WSOPE so he has cashed live..

jason is used to winning, really no big surprises here. blom is very unpredictable player- probably due to his overaggressive play style- most of the time he busts or wins big- not a lot of in betweens. really small field though only 93 players- almost like 10 tables sng. 8 game is no holdem, even though holdem is a part of the structure

Does anyone know how much Jason won so far live so far, i mean he cashed out in a lot of events in the last years...

Also really bad run for Blom, it seems that after he separate from Pokerstars he is on a major losing streak.
