Daniel Pidun, of Germany, took an early lead on the main event final table last Saturday and eliminated player after player to increase his lead. After about 5 hours of final table action, Pidun was the last man standing and collected €880,000 and a Slyde watch worth €5,000.
Pidun is a hobby player who runs a mobile phone parts business together with his brother. For the past few years, he has taken a week off from work just to play this single event. He finished 9th back in 2011, 17th place in 2012, and now he finally took down the tournament and, believe it or not, became the first German to win an EPT on home soil.
Final Table results:
1st. Daniel Pidun - €880,000
