Welcome mobsters, if you are reading this blog for the very first time, I thank you for your initial interest. I think that if you give it a little time, you will find something that will peak your interest.

I am a semi-pro poker player and an author. I am currently working on several projects for publication, and will be discussing them on occasion in this blog. If you are a fan then I warn you, from time to time there will be spoiler book ideas discussed.

A New Bankroll Challenge - Current Bankroll $88.33 -Climb the Money Mountain $56 - $10000 USD

If you have read Blog post #34 then you already know I have been challenged by a friend to play on PartyPoker and to win on average just $5 USD per week.
Well I think it is time to give you all an update.

It is currently 1:00 am 28/11/2014
I have just finished a grinding session in which I took a shot at moving up to the 0.10/0.25 NL table limits. I lost $31.78 USD in one hand but my buy-in at the table was just the maximum $25 USD amount.

I had poker Aces and got to see the flop for just $1.

The flop was the, Ace hearts, 9 clubs, 3 diamonds.
I now have a set and I am last to act. One play raised 0.25, a second player raises it to 0.50 and a third play shoves all in for just over $63.

Ok what you need to know, I have been playing on this table for about 45 minutes. The moron from the Ukraine who just shoved all in has not folded a single time before the river that I can remember since sitting down at the table. I have seen him shove all in about 12 times, He has been called 4 times and lost 3 out of the for times show complete crap each time. He literally will move in in with anything and nothing at all. The Ukraine play has me completely covered. I have already seen his rebuy into the table 3 times. Yes I called, the others folded the pot.

The cards get show I have Ace spades, Ace clubs
Moron has Jack diamonds, 6 diamond.
The turn card drops and it is a king diamond, then I know I have just lost to a PartyPoker BS suckout! Yep the river is another phucking diamond the 5 of diamond.
He gets a flush, King, Jack, 6, 5, 3 of diamonds.
I was so phucking mad I could not hold back the cursing tirade that erupted from my lips.
So here is how things stand.

I started this climb with a bankroll of $56 USD and now after 6 full days od grinding my current bankroll is right now $88.33 USD.

So I am currently up $32.33 which does average out to just above the $5/ day goal.

I recommend you all think about just setting a small daily goal for yourself to achieve. You can believe me when I tell you that every time you succeed at reaching your daily small poker goal you will feel great. It will not take long before this approach will grow my bankroll up enough to move up into the better stakes.

Will keep you informed as things continue to progress.

Wishing you all the best

be cool.
Ronin

What a sick way to lose. You must have been so excited when he shoved all in and you were sitting there with top set. I hope you get to play with this guy again and get your money back and a lot more

Yes it was a really sick really to go from feeling on top of the world to feeling like I had just been totally raped. I really did know the second the turn card flopped I was going to get my Aces cracked. it really did put me on tilt. tried to play another session and I think I am still on tilt since nothing seeded to work for me.
Forced myself to stop playing for at least 8 hours.
be cool

You lost a quarter of your bankroll in a single hand...
Maybe you should add a "don't try this at home" disclaimer. Blink

Self appointed semi-pro players doesn't need proper bankroll management skills especially if they have a 36 parts blog series about it.
