Day 2 of the Borgata Poker Open Main Event kicked off with 606 players from a total field of 1,226 entries (the fourth largest WPT event in history). After eight levels of play, 456 players had been sent packing and Blake Bohn bagged up the largest stack (807,500) amongst the remaining 150 players. He is followed by Justin Zaki (618,000), Darren Elias (594,000) and Season XII WPT Player of the Year Mukul Pahuja (562,000) at the top of the chip counts.
Last year's champion of this event, Anthony Zinno, is still alive with an above-average stack of 287,5000. Zinno has the chance of becoming the first player in WPT history to defend the title in back-to-back years. Other notables that will return to the poker tables today include Season X Borgata Poker Open champion Bobby Oboodi (458,500), Ryan Riess (388,000), WPT commentator Mike Sexton (78,000) and Matt Glantz (56,000).
The plan for Day 3 is to play down from 150 players to the final 27 players. 120 of the remaining players will receive a slice of the $3,924,426 prize pool. Check back tomorrow morning for another update!
