On Monday, the largest ever Spin & Go prize pool was paid out on PokerStars, with Russia's "sss66666" taking home $1,000,000 of the $1.2 million prize pool! According to Russian PokerStars Blog, sss66666 is a 33-year-old handyman who used to work long and hard in southern Russia to make ends meet.
He was celebrating like crazy in the livingroom when the wheels stopped at $1.2 million, screaming so loud that his family woke up in a panic. He was in a state of shock. "It was actually quite difficult. My heart was pounding and the adrenaline was rushing. I have never felt that way before," he told PokerStars Blog.
He eventually managed to calm down and came to his senses: "I pulled myself together, realising this was the opportunity of a lifetime. I knew I was guaranteed $100,000, and I would have been very happy with that."
A million dollars is a lot of a money, especially for someone who used to struggle to to pay the bills and put food on the table. It seems like the richest Spin & Go to date couldn't have gotten a better winner than sss66666. "I shall make sure the family has no financial problems, and I shall also make a donation to charity for children who need expensive treatment," he said.
