German football professional Max Kruse proved his poker skills last year when he took third in Event #36: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball at the World Series of Poker. He received $36,494 in prize money that time.
A few weeks ago, he won €50,000 Euro in the German television show Pokernacht (Poker Night), where he competed against other celebrities. According to RP Online, the 27-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker has decided to donate all of the winnings from his last poker victory!
Half of the money (€25,000) will be donated to a children's hospice that takes care of and help very sick children and young people. "It is a important to support the children's hospice. Not everyone has the privilege to have healthy children," Kruse, who is a father of a 4-year-old boy, told RP Online. The remaining amount was given to a youth initiative in Hamburg, where Kruse was born.
