It seems like for the first time in years, PokerStars will have a true rival for live tournaments in North America, and it's going to be an awesome Party.
For almost 15 years, the tropical Caribbean Sea was ruled by PokerStars. However, this year things will change, for the better, as partypoker is stepping up their game by giving away at least $10 million during the Caribbean Poker Party Festival in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Their crowning glory in this Caribbean series is the $5 million guaranteed in the $5,300 Main Event!
The party is located at the five-star all-inclusive resort The Level at Melia Caribe Tropical, which is surrounded by beauteous gardens and it has its own private beach. If you're familiar with partypoker LIVE events, there will always be off-the-felt activities arranged, which includes golf sessions, a catamaran trip, zip lines, cocktail parties, and a memorable night at the Coco Bongo nightclub.
For the past couple of months now, satellites ran at partypoker and around 600 players managed to get their hands on awesome packages that included tournament buy-ins, cash for flights, and free hotel accommodations. These particular online satellites have now ended; however, you can still use your partypoker account funds to buy into all five Caribbean Poker Party events. You only have to spend your own money to buy a ticket to Punta Cana.
The 2017 Caribbean Poker Party schedule features five events for players to join in, with buy-ins ranging from $1,100 up to $25,500, and each has a guarantee of $1 million, except for the $5,300 MILLIONS Main Event which carries a whopping $5 million guarantee! Thus, there's a total of $10 million worth of guaranteed prize pools to play for.
The Main Event, which has four Day One starting flights and ends on November 25, will have $5 million up for grabs, making this one of the biggest live non-WPT or non-WSOP tourneys in poker history.
