The most recent $1,500 NLHE event at the 2018 WSOP has been a smashing success, attracting a player field of 1,330 entries to build a total prize pool of $1,795,500! The event was so huge that it needed a fourth, unscheduled day of play in order to determine the top winner.
It was Eric Baldwin who won Event #37 $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em, claiming his 2nd gold bracelet and the first place prize money worth $319,580. Baldwin's first gold bracelet was from another $1,500 NLHE event back in 2009 for $521,932.
The 35-year-old former collegiate baseball champ now has 25 career live tourney titles to his name, and he has over $5.8 million in earnings.
Baldwin said after he won, "It was a lot of hours of poker and a lot of short-handed play, that really sucks your mental energy. But man it's fun! I wish everyone could experience this. It's so cool."
On the extra 4th day of action, Baldwin started with a significant chip lead against Steinman. Even though Steinman tried to fight his way back into the top, Baldwin's A-J beat his pocket Kings after an Ace appeared on the river, making Baldwin the champ in this event.
