Gus Hansen Breaks Even on First 2020 Cash Game Action with $427,000

Gus Hansen is one of the few high-stakes poker pros who give us a glimpse of what goes on behind the doors of Bobby's Room at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Via his Instagram account, the Danish poker pro from Monaco shared a video of yet another one of his gigantic chip racks which appears to be around $427,000.

He said, "[Year] 2020, end of a long day, sitting by myself in Bobby's Room. What looks like a big win, is actually just breaking even, but tomorrow is a new day. It's gonna be a great year."

With that said, we could say that 2020 is indeed a good year for great beginnings and continuous winnings, and just like ‘The Great Dane', everyone in the poker world is fired up to make some money this year whether it may be in tournaments or cash games.

Gus Hansen can't know exactly if it will be a great year for him or not. This things can happen if he has any plans in mind beforehand. At the end of the year if he has no profit, then 2020 will be a big disappointment for him. We will see what will be.

Met him once with a group that got tips from famous players. He stood up and said:
"Whatever these guys said before me - do the opposite". He then smiled and said that if we play too predictable we don't stand a chance.
I guess this kind of an advise can work sometimes but not sure reg. the long run...

Gus for me is one of the best players to have everything to have nothing and for his great concentration, he has won great fortunes and regained a level of a great poker player

I am curious if Gus Hansen will play major tournaments in 2020 and if it will have good results. I like to see professional players when they reach in the final tables, but nowadays this things it happens not very often because many anonymous have good results. Anyway it's ok and the great Danish can have big success again.

Gus Hansen i havent heard this name in a long time
i miss old school poker , poker after dark and such
i heard he went bankrupt but here he is still playing in Bobby's Room and making cash like crazy

Gus Hansen's story can be extremely interesting because it is not easy to lose over 20 million dollars in online cash games as he did in full tilt. This man does not know what he is in real life or if he has a family but many players they could go crazy if they lost such an amount.

Bowie - you mean his book - Every Hand Revealed? He wrote it in 2008. I met him in 2011 at the Match poker first championship in London.
Got to play against some of the very best and also got to play poker on the London Eye. It had also a 250K$ tournament but I finished 55, outside the money - It was the only high prize game I ever played in real life. Wasn't my day sadly.
