2024 WSOP Main Event breaks Records with 10,112 Entries and $10M to Winner |

When Day 2d on Tuesday (July 9) concluded, the registration for the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event had closed, and the exact numbers are now in. A total of 10,112 players have joined the exciting tournament, which created a colossal prize pool of $94,041,600.
Ty Stewart, Executive Director of WSOP, said:"10,000 entrants has become the new magic number for the WSOP Main Event. The response has been overwhelming since our move to the Las Vegas Strip. Thank you to our partners, team members, and most of all, the players for another unforgettable summer."
When this record-smashing tournament wraps up next week, the final winner shall take home an incredible $10,000,000, the second-largest WSOP Main Event first prize ever in history. No one can tell exactly who that skilled and lucky player will be as the tournament has not even reached the money bubble yet. One thing for sure is it won't be former champions Joe Cada, Huck Seed and Chris Hunichen, who all fell throughout the day. Their hopes for a Main Event title will have to be put on hold until next year as the final survivors return tomorrow.
There are many other previous world champs still standing, including 2013 champion Ryan Riess (103,500). He is one of a four-player contingent of Main Event champions who made it through the day. The others are 2015 champion Joe McKeehen (309,500), last year's champion Daniel Weinman (229,500), and 1998 champion Scotty Nguyen (206,000). Each of them is still in the hunt and looking to achieve what has not been done in 27 years since Stu Ungar won the main event again.
Other notable names still in the running for the Main Event bracelet include Ari Engel (334,500), David Baker (329,000), Phil Ivey (283,500) and Brian Rast (229,000). Each one is looking to cash in the biggest poker tournament of the summer. To do that and more, they must navigate many hurdles and pitfalls as the tournament progresses.
The top 1,507 players will make the money, with the min-cash confirmed to be at $15,000. Those who make it to the final table will secure themselves a whopping $1,000,000, with seven-figure payouts taking place when only eight players remain.

yes, it is normal for any self-respecting player to play at least once in his life in this Wsop main tournament and advance as much as possible. I hope that this year my favorites will do this and catch the final table, even if it is very difficult.

| Record breaker ?? Hmm I thought this year would be less players than last year . I see the top two winning prizes , they get do much in comparison to the others . 1M gtd minimum payout at the FT , life changing money for many people

| is a lot of money for all players in final table but this tournament is beautiful and is for all professional players with their minds. Is very nice and strong tournament.

| The wsop is a big tournament and as expected every year it does big events, breaking wsop records this year with 10,112 entries and 10 million dollars for the winner, crazy prizes.

| In 2006 and last year the winner got $12M but this year it's only $10M , although there has been a record with the total entries of the players this year . Well I don't understand this , a little odd seems to me . Maybe the prize was bigger thanks to a bonus raise by a sponsor , like 888poker ??

| it is a huge amount of money but it is not the record. Last year the winner took 12,100,000 dollars and I think he is in first place in the money ranking. Anyway, 10 million is something great.
