The third day of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event came to a close a few moments ago. There are 666 player remaining with the top 648 places making the money, so it shouldn't take more than a few hours tomorrow before the money bubble bursts. Now, the chip leader is Maxx Coleman from Derby, Kansas. Coleman will bring 1,071,500 chips to Day 4 of the tournament - the only player with over a million chips!
Doyle Brunson (left) and Greg Merson (right), two former champions of this event, are still in the tournament! The Godfather of Poker (10-time WSOP gold bracelet winner and two-time WSOP Main Event Champion) made it through Day 3 with 626,000 in chips, and Greg Merson, who won last year's Main Event, will bring 390,500 chips to the fourth day of the tournament!
Apart from Merson and Brunson, there are many familiar faces (Luke Schwartz, Annette Obrestead, Marvin Rettenmaier - just to mention three with decent stacks) among the remaining squad of players. Day 4 will kick off at 12:00 p.m. Las Vegas time. Another five levels of poker are on the schedule and the money bubble will burst. It's set to be a thrilling day of poker!

Two of three Day 2 flights are in the books now and about 800 players are through to Day 3 of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event. The chip leader (at the moment - Day 2C still to be played) is Nick Schwarmann (413,600 chips) who overtook the lead from Jason DeWitt (ranked 2nd with 382,900) during the last level of Day 2. Schwarmann, from Orlando, Fla. has more than $400,000 in tournament earnings, including a 2nd place finish at this year's WSOP (Event #38: $2,500 NLH Four-Handed).
Now, two of the biggest names to make it through Day 2 with plenty of chips were former main event champions Doyle Brunson and Greg Merson. Brunson (two-time main event winner) started Day 2 with 81,025 chips and finished the day with 224,000! Merson, the winner of the 2012 Main Event, started with 81,650 in chips and finished with 275,000 after a fantastic day at the tables. It will be interesting to follow Brunson and Merson during Day 3!
We will be back with another WSOP Main Event update tomorrow, so stay tuned!

The fifth and final day of this event started with a final table of eight. Jonathan Duhamel was one of the two big names on the final table, but, unfortunately, he was eliminated already on the fourth hand. The 2010 Main Event champion was all in with kings and an open-ended straight draw against George Danzer's two pair, but failed to improve.

While most of the bigtime pros is in Las Vegas for the WSOP Isildur seems to have decided against it, and can you really blame him? Who wants to sit endless hours at the Rio for an entire week just to (maybe) be able to book the same profit as you can over two sessions online?
Im guessing Isildur is rubbing his hands in front of the screen and thinking exactly that during these hours.
With another great session yesterday evening and night, he reached an overall profit of $ 1,180,000 for the last two days. A number that in itself is staggering high, but will be put further into perspective by the fact that it is more or less exactly the same as one were to win by finishing seventh at the WSOP Main Event.
The day before yesterday it was a short session at the No Limit Hold'em tables where the young Swede struck gold, while this time around it's been both NLHE and the expensive fixed limit games.
One of the players who got hit the hardest was Kyle 'KPR16' Ray, who have lost approximately $ 425,000 in just over 1000 hands on FLO8 with blinds at $ 2000/4000.
Hopefully for all the railbirds the games will keep going and the pots and the swings will be both entertaining and equally enormous.

And it dragged on. So much so, that alotta people feared that this year's world championship would be without Denmarks biggest poker star.
But now there is good news from Las Vegas.
The Dutch poker journalist Frank Up The Woerd, reports that Gus Hansen managed to sign up, and has simply been blinded down during her absence.
-17,875 chips to Gus Hansen after not having played all day. What an amazing structure!, Frank Op De Woerd writes on Twitter.
Also Tom 'durrrr' Dwan choose the cash games at ARIA instead of the tournament at the Rio, but just like Gus he chose to have the Main Event as a plan B. He is also ready for day 2 with 16,175 chips, writes Op De Woerd. At the same time he gives us a little hint about what the two high rollers have been up to:

The fourth day of the $50,000 buy-in Poker Players' Championship has now concluded. The day started at 2 p.m. local time with the remaining 26 players of a 132-player field. The field was narrowed down to a final table with 8 players after four and half levels of play. Don Nguyen, from USA, never let go of the chip lead during Day 4 and will now bring a 5,680,000 stack to tomorrow's final table.
Although he has a pretty decent lead over the other 7 finalists, he will have to play extremely well on the final table if he wants to lay hands on the $1.7 million first prize. He's up against some very good, and experienced, tournament players (just have a look at the chip counts below and you'll catch my drift).

The second day of Event #55: The Poker Players Championship ($50,000 buy-in) came to an end a few moments ago. David Benyamine will lead the final 78 out of 132 players into Day 3 of the tournament with a stack of 729,000, and Jonathan Duhamel (Day 1 chip leader) is not far behind with 666,100 chips.
Besides Benyamine and Duhamel, there are lots of poker stars among the remaining squad of players. However, the most notable one has to be Mr. Doyle Brunson! That's right! The godfather of poker is playing his first (and most probably only) event at the 2013 World Series of Poker. He will bring 265k to Day 3 and, according to his twitter, there are several side bets on how well he will do it in the tournament. So far it's looking pretty good. It will be interesting to follow him during Day 3!

He was ranked fourth when the last day kicked off, and he made it to heads-up against Niall Farrell after several hours of play.
Farrell, from UK, had a massive 8-1 lead when the match started, but somehow he still didn't stand a chance against the American, who won several all ins and dominated play throughout the battle until he claimed the WSOP bracelet and a whopping $592,684 first prize. A very impressive comeback!

Almost 7 years ago Jeff Madsen made a name for himself in the poker scene by winning two gold bracelets within a week at the 2006 WSOP! He was 21-years-old at that time and became the youngest ever to win a WSOP bracelet (a record since broken). Besides the two wins for over $1.3 million, he finished in third place in a Omaha Hi/Lo event for about $97k and received the 2006 Player of the Year award!
