The American poker pro Joe Sebok, 35, has almost $2 million in live tournament earnings (no major title) and was well liked for several years when he was known more as Barry Greenstein's stepson than a poker pro.

It has been very quiet from Sebok in the past year or so and the question is if he ever will win a major tournament title - because, according to a recent interview, he spent last year at Vinify, a premium custom crush winery in Santa Rosa, California, where he worked really hard and lost almost 17 pounds during the last 3-month harvest.

Posted on 23 July 2012 by "T".

A few days ago, Jeanine Deeb, World Poker Tour Development and Casino Relations Manager, Tweeted that the the American poker pro Joe Sebok (Barry Greenstein's stepson) had joined the World Poker Tour team as commentator. But the Tweet was removed shortly after and still World Poker Tour hasn't made any official statements on the matter. One thing's for sure though: the rumor has caused waves as many people don't think Sebok is the man for the job...

Black Friday: Absolute Poker & UB.com part ways with 11 US-based pros

Posted on 10 May 2011 by "T".

Blanca games, UB.com and Absolute Poker's parent company, has just announced that they have been forced to let go of 11 pros. The affected pros are Joe Sebok (picture), Prahlad Friedman, Eric "Basebaldy" Baldwin, Maria Ho, Brandon Cantu, Tiffany Michelle, Scott Ian, "Hollywood" Dave Stann, Adam "Roothlus" Levy, Bryan Devonshire and Trishelle Cannatella.

It can't be fun for Blanca's management at the moment. They just had to let go of 300 employees in Costa Rica and now they have to let go of 11 US-based pros + they have received lots of criticism in the past week due to the bankruptcy rumors. However, according to a press release, the company is still in discussions with U.S.Attorney's Office to reach an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to facilitate the return of US players funds. So let's hope that all U.S. players will get back their outstanding funds soon.

WPT: Andy Frankberger wins WPT Legends of Poker

Tags: andy frankberger, joe hachem, joe sebok, wpt legends of poker
Posted on 27 August 2010 by "T".

When World Poker Tour's Legends of Poker tournament was about to be settled the other day one got to watch a very anonymous final table. Some big names made it to the money (Joe Hachem, Joe Sebok etc) but not even close to the final table. Last notable to leave the tournament was Jonathan Little - 12th place. Anyhow, it ended up being Andy Franberger from New York who took down the final table after many hours of play. For the win he received nothing less than $750,000 and a free entry to the WPT Final at Bellagio next year. I can only imagine how much this win must mean to him since his biggest cash before this one was only $2000. It will be interesting to see if he will play as well in the WPT Final next year.

1. Andy Frankenberger, $750 000

2. Kyle Wilson, $370 000

3. Tom Lee, $174 772

4. Tom Braband, $109 000
5. Jared Jaffee, $86 000

6. Franco Brunetti, $63 000
7. Steve Reitzfeld, $45 000

8. Wade Woelfel, $35 000
9. John Smith, $29 000

10. Hoan Ly, $24 000
