@midnight1954 I did think it was aimed at me, I want you to comment, and yes I agree drugs are bad, well most drugs are bad some are for good. But you are missing the whole point of the thread, its not just about drugs, is (1) about drugs in poker, so id like to hear your view on if you think games such as WSOP should have drug test, or alcohol removed etc? and (2) about stimulent, such as coffee, do you find yourself having to keep a cupper on the boil to help you keep concentration? Its not an idiotic thread IMO, its something that is not talked about but goes on, so lets talk about it. Again I dont need "drugs", well not the hard ones, but do need caffine and beers for weekend play :}. I do hope you can see past the word drug, and not see it as a substance only taken by people to get high. I have more respect, not that you care, for the guy who gave his honest oppnion on the use of cannabis in live and on-line games, than for you overlooking and being far to quick to judge people, and getting that judgment compleatly wrong. First of all Kristan, if you don't mind me saying I wouldn't go mad about people that are over 55 and have an instant reaction on hearing the word 'DRUGS', even if this reaction seems narrow-minded to many of us...
The words DRUGS, ALCOHOL, GAMBLING, HOMOSEXUAL, PORN, JAIL and some more are guaranteed to bring issues to some older people... this is no strange thing and we don't know if there's a devastating story about a member of someone's family behind such a reaction, so it's better to overpass these kind of behaviors from older people... I'd say they belong to another generation, when all these things were taboos and raised lots of eyebrows just by hearing these words. I know many people mostly over 60 yrs old that would have probably the same reaction as midnight about the word DRUGS... By the way I know an ALCOHOLIC HOMO who just got out of JAIL and he's addicted to all sorts of GAMBLING while doing some nasty PORN s**t to pay his pusher, cause he's also into DRUGS.... Ah, nice fellow by the way, he always plays the Sunday Million though he always folds his Quads (hmm, I suppose he can't concentrate much...)
I voted for Energy Drinks in the poll as sometimes I drink one or two during a long tourney, but being a heavy smoker for about 20 YEARS and having quit for 2 1/2 years now, I'd say the ULTIMATE one and only drug that really keeps the mind going in such brain demanding tasks as poker is TOBACCO... I remember back in 2008 when I was still smoking, I wasn't so much into poker then, but more into all night sessions of Magic The Gathering and Tomb Raider... I swear, there were times when I felt my mind almost stopped working, and after three or four Stuyvesants in a row I could really get back on the track again and solve any of those friggin' devilish Lara Croft puzzles again... So I'd say tobacco is the #1 s**t among them all .. without it a smoker just CAN'T SEE STRAIGHT ( and that's a 7-8 hand on a 4-6-5 flop!! )

Ive got nothing against older people, as I look up to most of players in this site who are older than me .

I've played pissed, stoned and charged up like scarface and I think probably even on MDMA. But, that was when I didn't take poker so seriously and was a lot younger and stupid Wouldn't change it for a thing though!
In the past couple of years I've tried adderal a few times, it's great for mega long sessions, especially in a casino, but.....
NOTHING BEATS A BOMBAY
BOMBAY:
Instant Coffee, it has to be instant, it can not be ground coffee. Brand doesn't matter.Dr. Pepper and Ice Cubes, these are essential to get the proper consistency. Cubes work better than crushed
Add spoonfuls of coffee to an empty cup, do this based on how strong you would like your drink to be. I'd always go with at least 2, but never more than 5. Mess around and see what you like most.
Next, add Dr. Pepper to the coffee in the cup and let it dissolve, it will turn into a foam like substance. You will notice because the cup will weigh significantly less than a normal cup full of liquid would, that's because at this point its not really a liquid
Finallly, add some ice cubes and stir around for a few seconds and it will turn back into a drinkable liquid. Don't expect it to taste like candy, remember you are drinking instant coffee, but it's not bad, especially if you are already a coffee drinker, plus Dr. Pepper is awesome enough to make anything taste ok.

My man JeVoo, master of palate delights , what you're describing above looks like "Nescafe frappe" (the kind of ice coffee that 90% of greeks drink in coffee shops) mixed with some sort of cola... Very very tasty and guaranteed to keep you up, yeah!
As I said before we drink a couple of these (without Dr.Pepper that is) every day here in Greece when it's hot outside... it's very common... maybe you've noticed some greek students in England doing the same... tastes good
