Well I want to say, "Good on yah for once again finding joy in the game". What you stated in your last post is one of my own fears about using a HUD. I do not want to fall into that trap myself. I have had a few bad days myself recently. I feel very sure it is because I have been playing while both sick and tired. Also add in the pain med's I am certainly not at my absolute best. It will all come together for me though. be cool

I bet he was chasing straight flush there Some people they just cant lay down a flush or a flush draw and they will chase with any crap they get. At first i thought, that this was only a freeroll phenomenon, but after i started playing ring games i realised it wasnt. Nice catch.

A lot of people chase against the odds. That is a good thing because that's how you make money in the long run, but when they hit it can really hurt. I'll take real dollars over Sklansky dollars anyday!

I started a thread today to alert everyone to the March 1 tourney. Haven't posted here recently but doing well overall, just really busy with work and getting ready to move. Not a lot of time for extra stuff. Can't wait for spring, back to the -20 degrees by the weekend GL guys!

With such temperatures you should say you cant wait for the summer, not spring Not low enough for you there and you want to take it slow in the change? Good thing that where i live it doesnt get that low, but on the other hand you cant stand the highs some times

My family is from the Costa Blanca of Spain, I have no problem with the heat! As far as Canadian cold, must be the bacon that keeps me insulated and warm at -30

Well, two months since my last blog post, so here it goes...
THE MOVE
Yesterday marked three weeks since our move from the country to solid suburbia, and so far so good. The move took four fcuking days. We had movers on the first day, and we thought that on the second day we would finish, but no. Four days. On the second day I got up at 3 AM and basically did not stop until I lay down to bed at night at 11 PM, and we still weren't done. I had a large truck from work for moving my stuff, and we had to make multiple trips. I knew my wife had a lot of things, but during the move I saw that I had too much stuff too. I realized that my days of rebuilding cars and racing them on drag strips are over, and so are the days when I used to make or refinish furniture. Marriage and work and kids have taken over my life, and these activities I always thought I would return to - I find I am no longer really interested in. So I have been selling a lot of my bigger and specialized tools, and keeping what you would normally need for fix-it jobs.
Living closer to work, especially with the hike in gas prices, is really nice too. I went from two hours a day and 110 km to 50 minutes and 50 km. The kids already knew some other kids in the neighbourhood, so they are fitting right in as well. My city slicker wife is liking it too, so overall a good move for all of us. My goal is to use the extra time to be more active outdoors, and we are close to a large body of water here so I kept my boat and plan to resume fishing and boating, although I wouldn't eat the fish around here...
POKER
My online game has been going well. I currently play on four sites, and will choose which site to play at depending on which games are running. One of them is Pokerstars. After many unsuccessful tries at this site I was really starting to wonder if this site wasn't rigged. But after eight straight weeks of weekly withdrawals, I have confidence in my game and really enjoy it. I also play on 888 and PartyPoker, but my favourite is a site that I will not share here. Although a small site, there are some really juicy games running there. I ran up a $50 deposit to $1000 in about two weeks time, and since then I have withdrawn about $750 in the ensuing three weeks. Playing there brings me back to the good old days of the poker boom, so many players playing so poorly with so much money, just gotta be patient and observant of the other players and before long it's dinner time!

Posted by Phisix: $50 to $1000 in two weeks!? Wow, what stakes and volume were you doing for that feat?
You would be surprised at how little volume I had to put in, but obviously normal safe bankroll management went out the window. Playing NL25 at first, then NL50, and when I reached a $400 roll I switched to NL100 until I hit $1000. Since then I keep that as my baseline and withdraw once a week whatever is over, playing mostly NL100. As I mentioned, the play there is reminiscent of when I started online 7 or 8 years ago. Back then, within 6 months of starting I was making more from poker than from my job, playing two or three tables of full ring NL100 for 2-4 hours a day. Things have changed a lot since then but luckily not at this site.

Nice to see your making some money playing poker, not to many can say that, to bad the move took so long, but that happens, you just never know how much stuff( or junk ) you actually have untill you move. Good luck in your new home and poker.
