ICON is widely popular for its classy 4x4 vehicles. They have been getting thorough attention in the world of street rods thanks to their heavily modified handbuilt classic streetcars with modern chassis and drivetrains but with preserved original bodies and the patina that came along with the bodies. ICON Derelicts is the term used to call these cars.
One thing to expect from ICON is their ability to combine two concepts and make them blend almost seamlessly. A cool combination that ICON has a lot of success with is combining fun with fundraising - partying while contributing for a good cause.
Recently, ICON's shop in California was turned from a workplace to a party area. The event that was held in their California shop was the third annual Cars & Casino. The shop area was filled with different casino games. Several feet from the game area were concept vehicles that were on display, some from ICON, others were from automotive museums, and elsewhere. Gourmet food trucks provided the food, and top mixologists served alcoholic cocktails.
In the front room of the facility were more than a hundred items displayed, all of which were part of a silent auction used to raise money for charity. Some of those being auctioned were not exactly tangible items, but more like yacht rental, private tours, or VIP Pass on concerts. All the money being raised was an aide for Go Campaign.
Go Campaign aims to improve the lives of orphans including vulnerable children from all over the globe. The group matches donors with that of grassroots organizations so basic needs like foot, water, shelter, education, and medical care can be provided. To date, Go Campaign, along with the help of events like Cars & Casino, has helped more than 90,000 children through more than 200 projects in 30 different countries worldwide.
