You got a nice profit for the amount you invested.
Some times when you are away from the tables for too luck, you are hesitating into playing
the game you used to.
You need some time to acquire the aggression needed Smile

Hi everyone! This is going to be the last blog post for this blog. I am really stoked about blogging for BRM in 2014, and if I am not chosen I will start a new one anyways in the forum – one which is centered more around the game and less about personal tidbits. Opening blog post will be a video for January 1st, and seeing as how I will be pretty destroyed on that day I will shoot it ahead of time. BTW, in past years when I was in top shape on January 1 it was actually the best day of the year to be playing, so many drunk and hung over and gambling players, so juicy. All the best! Smile

Well ths for the tip ... playing poker on the 1 rst of January.

But to bad for me I have other familiar obligations like visiting my family, having diner there.

I am really looking forward to that. So no poker for me.

Just thinking those drunk players could have been a real bankrollbooster

So hope to see you back as a BRM-blogger in 2014 Mahdrof.

I'm sure you'll be able to make a very, very interesting poker blog for BRM mate, so i wish you all the best on that!

As i already said i'm looking forward to your first poker vid. I hope in 2014 i'll have spare time to get more serious with poker, in the last months i also played way too few hands Sad

As it seems i havent or remember reading Smile any relevant threads about the whole
BRM blogging thingy.
It looks like you have made an application, if i got this right to get picked as an official BRM blogger?
If thats the case i wish you all the best with it.

Well, I thought the blog post on December 4 would be my last one, but so much has happened in the meantime that I thought one more wouldn't hurt. Right now I am playing the best poker since at least three years, maybe longer. My SNG game is doing nicely, my cash game is profitable and a few low dollar forays into MTT have also been positive, and using some of the profits from poker at the casino has also worked out really well. I have been playing NL100 for the past few days while still keeping my BIs for SNG and MTT at no more than $6, and I am feeling confident about my play for the first time in a long time. I thought my 2014 blog would focus on my play at 888, and growing that into something good, but it has already happened so I think my blog will be about my PartyPoker account, and an attempt to grow that roll.

2014 is going to be a year of change for me and my family. We recently sold the farm that has been in the family since 1931, and we purchased a house in the suburbs, we are moving in April. Closer to my work, closer to my wife's work, closer to the kids' school, closer to our activities, a lot less time in the car, a lot less money on gas. I am going to miss living in the country, and after living there all my life it was not an easy decision to make, however when you have a family sometimes decisions need to be made that are not easy. Having such a big place while raising two kids and working a full time job in the city has not been easy, especially since my dad passed away three years ago. Even at 80 he could still outwork a lot of men half his age, a true workhorse born in the hard days of the Great Depression.

So I am looking to make 2014 the best year ever for me and my family in many ways. All the best to all of you at BRM and on the forum.

Hi Ronin,

You misunderstood what I meant. I am closing down my current blog to start a new one in 2014, one which will have more of a poker focus and less personal. My new blog will either be for BRM if they choose me, or simply in the forum threads like my old one was. I am definitely not leaving BRM.

G'day mate

Well that is good news Thumbs Up
Sorry me head is not currently working as I have been dealing with BS government policy and my head is spinning in total disbelief. In a nutshell I won an appeal to receive CPP Disabilty and the federal government dropped part of the money they owed me into my hands.
Even though they owed me from all the way back in March 2006, they only go back a maximum or 18 months of back pay, which was just over $9000.
I was honest and informed the NB government people who I was getting disability support from, and they say, "well then you MUST pay us back what we gave you then".
I mean WTF! they want people to be honest but when we are 100% honest and upfront about things with them they total fCUk us over. Tell me where is the incentive for anyone to be honest with the bastards.
So not the NB government want thousand of dollars paid back to them. The entire situation just makes me sick.

Ronin

The post is not 100 % clear for me as I am not familiar with your governments and laws in Canada.
The only thing I can advise you is to look for help (here in Belgium unions are there to help you with such things , especially when it s about allowences)

Hope it works out for you in a good way

Cheers

No problem Ronin, sometimes my sentences are not as clear as they should be, so it leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

I am sorry to hear about your situation with the government compensation agencies. At work one of my co-workers was badly injured 15 years ago on the job, and the problems she encountered getting compensation from the government during her 6 year recovery was really heartless. Good luck.

Hi everyone! This is going to be the last blog post for this blog.

Changed my mind. Yup, I know, I flip flopped on this more often than a smallmouth bass that just took the bait. If you are not happy, please phone my complaints department at 1-888-EAT-SH!T Shock Evil

Updates: After having a nice roll at 888, I caught the flu and was very sick, and like an idiot I kept playing and crashed it. It took 2 weeks to get over the flu and now I am building back up really quickly.

Two more months until we move to our new house, and panic is starting to set in as we still have a lot to do. Hopefully we don't move again until the kids are out of the nest, which won't be for at least 15 years.

In two weeks our Cub Scout winter camp is coming up, which IMO is the most fun of all camps. Winter is great, fall is very good, and summer is okay for camping for my taste. Yours truly goes by the handle of RTT, which is short for Rikki Tikki Tavi - the mongoose in the Jungle Book. Good group of kids this year, my son is in his last year of cub scouts.

That's it for now, hopefully more sooner. Don't forget to call in your complaints!

Nice to see another post in your blog mate, sorry to hear that you lost the profi that you made because you played while you were sick.

But again i'm happy that you managed to win them back pretty quickly. What do you play now on 888?

Hi Mac! Right now I am playing Nitro $3 SNG, NL10 and NL20, and lately quite a bit of Omaha10. My roll crashing was my own fault so don't feel bad, sometimes it feels like we have to learn the same stuff over and over again... Sad

That is one of the worst parts in someone's life, at least in mine.
When you are realising that you are doing exactly the same mistake you did before.
You want to believe that something may change this time but....

EXACTLY!

In order to try and avoid this, I have decided to stop graphing my results. Up until recently I believed very strongly in recording my results as a motivational tool, and so that I could note any trends. Although I still believe this is important for a full-time grinder, what it was doing to me was that I felt forced to play regardless of how I felt in order to maintain the slope of my graph. When I was having a day of bad beats it would lead me to play blinds that are too high for my BR, and on days when I was sick and should have stuck to doing something else, I was out there playing against people who weren't sick or dead tired - and naturally they would knock the stuffing out of me. Now, if I have a day where I make $5 well, I made $5, better than losing half of my BR. And on days like last Sunday where it seems I couldn't miss, it let me increase my BR almost 50% (yeah, 50%) when everybody I was playing against seemed committed to donating their money to me. So far I find I am playing under less stress and having more fun, and hoping it continues that way.
