HighStakes: Gus Hansen Chasing OMGClayAiken at the Tables

Last year Gus Hansen was losing a lot of money to Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond at the Omaha tables at Full Tilt Poker. But at the beginning of 2009 it has been a completely different story. Yesterday they could be found playing at their usual PLO tables at Full Tilt Poker and it was Gus Hansen who continued his winning streak in 2009. In fact seven out of the ten largest pots were won by Gus Hansen.

The Great Dane ended the session with a $613.000 profit and most of the winnings came from Phil Galfond and Hac "trex313" Dang. The only game they were playing was Pot Limit Omaha which seems to be the most popular game amongst the high stakes players.

Galfonds start to 2009 has been the complete opposite of the one of Gus Hansen as he is down around $500.000 for the year. Even though this is peanuts for a player like Galfond it is still not the start he would have wished for.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Hansen when it comes to cash games (specially online) but when it comes to MTTs, it's very interesting to watch him whether he wins or lose.

He should not hunt down the rocks Galfond and Dang brothers. Take on Dwan, Gus. There is an extra million on the table against him. Smile

Well i think he is one of the most intelligent and firece people in poker. And he must be a great bud too. And pretty funny to watch with his gestures and comments.

It's amazing to watch poker on that high stakes. You can lose or win the price of a house or a good car. But it don't count for them. LOL

Gus hansen is the biggest fish in online hi-stakes .. everyone who has watched him play knows that.. if any of uze have actually watched the hi stakes action on FT u would know the only way he makes money is moving in with the worst hand then sucking out

u should really check that stats before making comments like 'hes the man' .. n o0o btw galfond is only 2nd next to durrrrrrr in the hi stakes profit leaderboard on FT

I totally agree guy lalibert is a bigger donkey than hansen.. but if u have noticed elmariachimacho hasnt been seen anywhewre near the hi stakes table in '09 think he has learned his lesson lol..

n as far as gus goes galfond said in an interview that 'gus is a good player playing in a field of world class players' lol

that being said i still like gus i think hes a top mtt player live i mean as far as cash games go theres none worse than him on the hi stakes leve
