Day 1a and 1b are now over and 148 players made it to Day 2. In the lead we find Isaac Baron who is a one of Full Tilt pokers sponsored pros. Baron has 153,700 chips and is closely followed by Vivek Rajkumar (137,500 chips). But one of the players that probably has the most respect and is to look out for is Daniel Negreanu with his 95,700 chips.
The buy-in for the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament this year was $10,000 and a maximum of 400 players could take part. Not less than 391 registered (Erick Lindgren, Freddy Deeb, Allen Cunningham and John Juanda just to mention a few) and created an enormous prize pool of over $3,700,000. Now when day 1a and 1b have been completed 148 players will play Day 2 and continue the fight for the first prize of over $1 million. Last year Brandon Cantu won the tournament and received $1 million after defeating players like Steve Sung, Jennifer Harman and John Phan on the final table. Let's hope that the final table this year will include this many good players as well.
