IPPA Championship: The most expensive tournament ever

The International Poker Players Association (IPPA) will represent a championship event later this year with the biggest buy-in the world has ever seen. The buy-in for the IPPA Championship is nothing less that $250,000 and it will take place in Monte Carlo on Nov 29 - Dec 2 and there are 48 seats available. Two of these seats are reserved for sponsors and another 2 for the lucky poker players who qualifies through satellites in Monte Carlo and Los Angeles.

13 of the poker world's biggest names have already signed up for the tournament - Johnny Chan, Freddie Deeb, Tony G, Huck Seed, Robert Mizrachi, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham, Patrik Antonius, Allen Cunningham, Bruno Fitoussi, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and Tom Dwan. The total prize pool will be 12 million dollars and and the winner will get 5 million dollars. Ladies and gents, this will be the most interesting and thrilling poker tournament ever!

Elite 48 will be a great show, just a shame they wont show it here untill 2278 at 3.30AM on a tuesday.
But with a bit of luck a well known site migh show the action...OR bankrollmob might want to pay for my entry!...around 250k members here if we all chip in $1.....

Imo there must be more tourneys with buyin $100K+ , why wud Iveys, Dwans, Ziggy's go play a tourney for 3 days (traveling, expenses, ect) for just a $10K buyin nowadays?
There are so many Iveys nowadays who can pay these high buyinns easily.
So i expect many more $50K+ buyinns events in the near future.

250k wow, this is surely gonna be interesting game to look forward to. would be great if they can manage to fill all 48 seats, im sure lots of players now can afford that.
