Tony G's message to Phil Hellmuth: "It's time to think about retirement"

Tags: attack, phill hellmuth, retire, tony g, video blog.
Posted on 28 December 2011 by "K".

Due to Christmas holidays et cetra, we somehow managed to miss out on Tony G's latest video blog. The video, which was uploaded by Party Poker on December 22, has the description "Tony G sends his Christmas Greetings".

Maybe "Tony G sends a message to Phil Hellmuth" would be a better description. Yes, once again the Lithuanian poker pro is attacking Hellmuth. This time however, Tony G thinks that Hellmuth should retire for good from poker and that he's overrating himself in the poker world.

I really wanted to see the answer to Phil Hellmuth video of Tony G, he must be very funny with an attack outside the poker table

even tho its entertaining to see Phil Hellmuth vs Tony G fights in the big game, its really wrong time to say stuff like that, people should respect legends in poker for god damn sake. Maybe is Phill Hellmuth not so good as he used to be, but he is still decent.

LOL, why do people take it serious, PH took over 1.5 mill in WSOP alone last year, not as good as he used to be pfff..its advertising.

ah the great self promoter tony g is having a go at another great self promoter phil...wonder if these dudes are actually just doing this on,purpose just to keep everyone aware that they are still around...to be fair they both deserved a rest from poker if they wish to do...since they achieved more than most of us anyway...

Personally I find it starting to get a bit much, but thankfully poker has people with character like Phil Helmuth, Tony G, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, because if they were all like Phil Ivey it would be pretty boring to watch. If we want poker to keep attracting new players we need characters who will fire people up and want to give it a try. Otherwise it will become like bridge, the popular game of a different generation.

T.G. is a bit opinionated, isn't it? Hellmuth is a fantastic player.

He is a show man, just want some attention from others, He is good for the advertizing of his pokerroom, but I do not like his character very much.

Hellmuth is a much better poker player than Tony G!

Tony G donks it every time and by him saying that it is his time and saying that he may as well stick to the smaller things in poker is a travesty!

I reckon Hellmuth should make a reply giving him the what for!

Nicely spoken for a man with the brains of a peanut

Strange that Hellmuth came second in the WSOP rankings in 2011 and has won more money in the WSOP than Tony G can ever hope to win...

If Hellmuth should retire because he's no good anymore then Tony G should have followed what he preaches and given poker up before he even started...

It is not very disturbing for PH,coz we all can see that Tony was totally drunk!!!
 Fakiry29/12/2011 09:11:34 GMT
I just hope I can watch more action during 2012 between this two. This entire novel apart from the tables increases the expectation of seeing both fighting in the poker field. Does anyone know when this can happen?

Got to love this kind of stuff! We all know it just adds excitement when we get to watch these guys go at it. If the truth was known Tony G and Hellmuth are both laughing at eachother whenever comments as such take place. This is good for the sport and yes, I did use the term sport! Good Luck to All!
 essambb29/12/2011 16:52:05 GMT
so fucking funny this guy real crazy
 TheMachineQC30/12/2011 09:11:27 GMT
Tony G seems obsessed with Phil Hellmuth. Weird for a guy that won so much from him cash games. Why would you tell him to stop playing if you win against him? Doesn't make sense at all.

Anyways, everyone knows that PH is a way better tournament player than Tony G.

The wheel of fortune will turn against you Tony. I there was no Phil Hellmuth you would exist as successful poker player. Your pride will bring you down soon. Your character sucks
 Cliffem01/01/2012 21:16:47 GMT

 doaga01/01/2012 22:29:36 GMT

 IceFingers18/01/2012 10:07:38 GMT
hahah i love Tony G when he starts on Phil Helmuth, not laughed so hard for a long while, than i did watching the episode 6 season 2 of the big game, expecially when he said he was all in blind then turns over AKh lol.. so dumb
 quadraces19/02/2012 18:23:19 GMT
Maybe Tony should focus on his own game ..... this post reeks of arrogance and he has the balls to call Phil arrogant .... this is just a petty publicity stunt
 noonlion07/04/2012 20:21:08 GMT
laughable
 michaelwilk07/04/2012 21:45:24 GMT
