Both starting days at the 2014 World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star have come to a close and, believe it or not, a new record has been set! A total of 713 players bought into tournament (crushing last year's record of 643 players), making it the largest Bay 101 Shooting Star in WPT History!

Now, 300 players will return to play today in the San Fransisco Bay Area and the overall chip leader is Giorgio Medici (from Day 1A) with 254,600 in chips. There are several familiar faces at the top of the leaderboard, including Jeff Madsen (173k) and Champion Club members David Chiu (174k), Shawn Buchanan (164k), Nam Le (160k), Phil Laak (147k) and Scott Seiver (141k).

The Shooting Stars that were eliminated today include Will Failla, Barry Greenstein, Galen Hall, Kyle Julius, Allen Kessler, Christina Lindley, Ana Marquez, Chris Moorman, Ryan Riess, Vanessa Selbst, Joe Serock, Dan Shak, Dan Smith, and Jennifer Tilly.

Its nice to see that these tournaments are still drawing large entries. Scott Seiver catches my eye as a big name to watch but there is a long way to go and a lot of poker to be played

Damn Greenstein got knocked out , he is a good player , used to watch him in live events, I love how calm he is when he is playing and when he try to laughs he always looks serious, but he is a great poker player and being around for a long time. Hope he stays here, fun to watch how he does not show emotion at the table!

Phil Laak is the most known name i see, and he is among the biggest stacks, that may be a problem for less known players who are risking to get a place on the prizes.

The WPT was one of the interesting big tourney series and over 700 Player in this tourney are really a lot. Only the WSOP and the EPT are bigger and this 3 tourney series are the best in the moment. And we can see a lot of new great Players on tv.
