Another six players entered Day 2 of the EPT Malta Main Event to bring the total field size to 895 players and a prize pool of €4,340,750 - of which 121 players will receive a share of (the winner will take home €810,400).
In total, the field was reduced from 512 to 186 players on Day 2 with Samuel Chartier bagging up the chip lead (465,500). Chartier, from Montreal, Canada, has a WSOP Circuit title to his name, played the EPT Barcelona final table, and won the Canada Cup High Roller and a side event at the PCA.
Besides Chartier, Germans Moritz Dietrich (460,000) and Ismail Kalkan (426,900) were the only players to accumulate over 400k chips on Day 2. Below are some notables that will return for Day 3:
Sam Trickett, 380,000 Dominik Panka, 197,300 Robin Ylitalo, 196,000 Dan Smith, 184,500 Benny Spindler, 149,400 Sorel Mizzi, 131,900 Kevin Schultz, 127,600 Vladimir Troyanovskiy, 125,300 Connor Drinan, 113,400 Olivier Busquet, 89,100 Jonathan Duhamel, 77,500 Martin Jacobson, 67,700 Jake Cody, 58,000
Yes there is many top players in the tournament, for me i want one of the two portuguese maybe in the final table, but fo win, yes maybe one of the top names, and for what i read maybe Benny Spindler or Martin Jacobson, one because what i see in the past is a agressive players and good when go deep, other because is the actual wsop champion. But tomorow will see the semi-final table, and know if will get another double champion of EPT.
Posted by doubletop777: There are still plenty of top names left in this tournament but Sam Trickett's name really catches the eye and he is in a very good position at the moment. I look forward to tomorrow's update
That pic in the article about Chartier tells a better story though.
