This Memorial Day weekend, the 7th most popular tourist spot in the United States is Las Vegas; and the most to benefit on this spike in visitors are the poker rooms.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, an estimate of 328,000 tourists shall arrive to Las Vegas from Thursday to Tuesday. Las Vegas vacationers are expected to shell out $252.6 million on hotels, food and gambling in just the next four days. There are about 150,000 hotel rooms in Las Vegas, and around 97% will be occupied from Thursday through Monday.
This holiday comes a few days before the start of the 2017 WSOP (World Series of Poker).
Sin City is the place to be for poker players all year round. However, with the influx of tourists traveling this weekend, the cash games are expected to be juicier and the tournaments livelier than usual.
