EPT Barcelona: "The Grinder" Leads After Day 1A

On Thursday, a massive field of 475 players went to Casino Barcelona to participate in Day 1A of the 2014 European Poker Tour Main Event! After eight 75-minute levels of play, the tournament director called it a day and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi bagged up the largest stack (186,600) amongst the 279 survivors.

The $5,000 buy-in event #35: No-Limit Hold'em Eight Handed drew a field of 550 runners when it kicked off 4 days ago. The 8 players that reached the final table had a combined 21 WSOP final tables and three gold bracelets. After several hours of battle and a heads-up match that only lasted 19 hands, Brian Yoon stood tall as the winner and received his second bracelet.

What a thrilling end of Event #47: Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better! Michael "the Grinder" Mizrachi and Owais Ahmed played heads-up for the first place prize of $255k and the coveted gold bracelet. "the Grinder", who you might recognize from High Stakes Poker and the 2010 WSOP Main Event final table, enjoyed a 3 to 1 chip lead, and also he had his entire family, a few friends and fans on the rail cheering for him. Apart from that, he had most experience from playing final tables under high-pressure.
