High Stakes: Dwan had to borrow money from Ilari Sahamies

Tags: durrrr, full tilt poker, high stakes, Isildur1, tom dwan.
Posted on 13 November 2009 by "T".

The Swedish poker player, "Isildur1" keeps on winning big when he's playing against the American high stakes pro, Tom "durrrr" Dwan. It seems like "Isildur1"is very comfortable to play against one of the best high stakes players. When both of them were playing heads-up on Wednesday night and the Finnish poker pro Ilari Sahamies took a seat at their table, "Isildur1" instantly wrote in the chat that he wanted to play heads-up against Tom Dwan.

Sahamies left the table and the game could continue. After a while, however, Dwan ran out of money and had to ask Sahamies for $500,000. Sahamies gave him the money so he could continue playing, but the Swede kept on winning. When both of them decided to call it a day, "Isildur1" had won another $600,000 from Tom Dwan.

It's no surprise that Isuldur1 said he wanted to keep playing heads up, he is making serious money. But if they want to play heads up, they should play a 2 seat table. And Durrrr needs to stop playing against Isuldur1. Sure it would be considered weak, but who cares when you are losing millions?
 DaneMitic13/11/2009 10:49:23 GMT
Its standard, the pros borrow money from each other all the time, nothing special about it... Agree
 MANUEDO13/11/2009 11:22:52 GMT
No surprise Dwan had to borrow money ?
For me it's a big surprise to see this guy win so much money to oblige one of the most known online pro player to ask for borrow.

 ZmxPowah13/11/2009 12:52:48 GMT
I wish he would play allthe time with him until he have no cash... would be fun.

You can quit playing.

I Heart Isildur1

 Thean13/11/2009 14:59:04 GMT
Its pretty obvious isildur knows tom's play like a book...He's probably been railing him a long time and when he got the $ to play him he took the chance, but i'm almost 90% sure isildur will bust after losing it all back to dwan and all the other pro's. Dwan will change he's game and it will go downhill from there for isildur so enjoy this show while it lasts

BRM ftw

yeah i totally agree..
losing is 1 thing, but knowing to quit is another..
when its time to quit but don't and carry on losing isnt a good move..
=/
 Lutenatik13/11/2009 15:02:45 GMT
Wow Isildur1 is playing good solid poker! Never though he would have another profit session heads up against durrr Smile
 ih8usukouts13/11/2009 15:03:31 GMT
Got to know when to stop. If you have to borrow 500k from a friend, then you know you are having a bad day. Especially chasing and trying to win back what you lost, not a good combo. I wonder what the FT team is thinking about now after signing him on?
 fejset13/11/2009 15:07:24 GMT
I will also borrow money soon. Aww crap!
 xxxpokerxxx113/11/2009 15:27:17 GMT
if that pic is true of the screen shot is true no wonder why the swede is winning hes cheating cause he can see dwans hole cards, if he can see the other players cards then, hes cheating with that software he can beat any body.
Wonder if any 1 at full tilt has seen that pic, of if any 1 has told durr of that pic?
 Btownd8713/11/2009 15:36:43 GMT
Wow, so they did a $500,000 transfer or something? I thought there was a cap on transfers.

Dwan, Dwan, Dwan...did you forget your million dollars at home again?
 Chartoule13/11/2009 16:31:54 GMT
Uf.. Durrr has to stop playing vs Isildur1. Maybe he´s a better player but millions $ down its too much.

Oh, can someone transfer 500000$ to me too? XD.

Ask Ziigmund. Cool
 psycokiller13/11/2009 22:01:28 GMT
Dwan's style is generally hyper aggressive with any 2 cards. It's bound to happen that his bankroll will have huge swings. If his swings continue, sooner or later other players are going to stop funding his play.
 Plexo13/11/2009 23:11:22 GMT
This can't only be a swing. The unkown sweeden has durrr dominated. He propably knows how to play against durrr better than what we think. I read in other forum that durrr has lost already more than 3 million dollars in these few days.

Durrr's ego must be on the floor, and his bankroll too.
About the picture: I think is pretty obvious that it isn't true. Why would he show that????. I really think is just a nice publicity campaign to the software in the picture.

Gl!
 NANACONDA13/11/2009 23:26:36 GMT
I certainly wouldn't be lending durrrr too much money at this point in time. Theres a fair chance that Ziggie won't be getting any of it back if this streak of durrrr's continues. That prediction of him going broke within a few years that Phil Helmuth's is looking promising. Shock
 Aggro66613/11/2009 23:46:18 GMT
as far as i have seen on the durrr challange, dawn just won very lucky the big pots with suckouts... and luck is not everlasting
 Mordo14/11/2009 02:19:10 GMT
Nice lend! Sahamies will win twice

Yep, that is spot on...
 Doomsday_vic14/11/2009 04:42:18 GMT
High stakes players borrow money from each other all the time. they just dont keep all their bankroll online. I've seen a lot of times where ziggie asked to borrow from patrik and durrr when he lost a lot from his drunk sessions lol.
 B1gfoot14/11/2009 08:56:58 GMT
-4.48mill for the year -5.70mill loss in 14 days.
Durrrr is in a big hole, and has been for some while, this is not his first loan, as I said in anouther poast a while back he took a loan and was playing big games behind doors HS on FT look normall copmpared to stake he was playing, and he was losing.
Durrrr is broke. belive or not, but its true.....
If He is lucky McSnakey might loanl him some free chips.

 Tchungpo14/11/2009 18:04:09 GMT
hehe isildur is just so hot and durrr dont know how to do. Hard situation : really hard to understand how they can play so much and i m asking myself how much Dwan have still in his bankroll... borrow is bad
 pziko198615/11/2009 01:56:13 GMT
lol Durrrr shouldnt borrow money, but move to lower limits (if he really is broke).. but if he loses that kind of money against 1 player, he is just a retard..
 kenz0bet15/11/2009 10:33:07 GMT
i like Ilari Sahamies
 Lurk3r15/11/2009 11:43:35 GMT
Hahaha asif dwan is getting pounded like this..

Hopefully he can work this guy out and bust him Tongue
 LaBaiz15/11/2009 15:18:17 GMT
durrrr is a great player, but seems to me he is not used to the playstyle of isildur1, maybe better plays next time from him.
 Connie8015/11/2009 17:54:26 GMT
is never good to play poker when you have to ask some one for money.
i hope durrr's luck will change.

This doesnt suprise, the guys bankroll cant be infinite, & after the huge downswing he had im not suprised he's had to borrow Dollar
 Bizla16/11/2009 01:41:01 GMT
Hr could probs ask FT if no one else lends him it.
 Pjot16/11/2009 09:10:39 GMT
Maybe Dwan will turn up here for a free bankroll? Would be nice to have him active in the forum, and such, open the safe and maybe win the mobdraw, and then he's right up there again! Big Smile
 DaneMitic16/11/2009 11:24:56 GMT
HMM... I personally think that everyone overrates isildur1 a little, he is a good player, no doubt about that, BUT.... he comes from nowhere, that means no one knew a shit about his playstyle and he was much more motivated at the beginning, than PA & durrrr etc., to crush the high stakes tables at FTP, since hes a newcomer and thats the reason why he had such a great start.
Look at him now, since yesterday it is getting a little harder for him, he lost a little, then won, but most of the time he is breakeven or "little winnings" (at least compared to the days before).

My prediction is that he'll lose a couple of millions the next few days, maybe 2 or 3. He wont be able to keep his upswing, PA and durrrr do have a read on him now (even I'm getting to understand his game, hes massively aggressive player and he does a lot of semi-bluffs. his playstyle is the very same as iveys playstyle, they are both hardcore maniacs. thats why hes trying to avoid ivey as much as possible. ) and they'll do all to take their pride back, I'm 100% sure. It will be some sort of "martonas-effect"... Tongue
Lets see what happens, I might be wrong, though.. Smile
 shokaku16/11/2009 11:34:11 GMT
If that Isildur guy is half way smart, he takes most of the money out of his account and plays smaller stakes. Or completly on another site.

Yeah, I would so, SO, bank a few million $ and be happy! How much does one need? Why risk it all, if it in the end turns out that one was just lucky for a time?

If it is skill, he can start from a few 100 000 and do it again. If it is not, he should get the f*ck out of there.

Well, they are humans, like all of us and we ALL want more and more.... its very hard to stop, when big money is involved.
But yea, your both right, he should save a big part of his money and make a good life with it. Smile

I thought of the same thing after I had written my post. It's damn easy to say you should quit while your a head, but a lot harder to actually do.

I guess my quitting while I'm + probably (among a lot of other things), prevents me from reaching these hights.

Looks like Ziigmund will need the money back soon. Down over a million to Isildur at the moment. 1000/500 PLO HU is a bankroll killer.
 Dirika25/11/2009 18:21:17 GMT
could some1 borrow 500k for me too, so i could go beat those pros in their own fields like isildur? -.-

You are from Finland, so ask Antonius or Sahamies. Cool
 Ronsaki06/12/2009 20:48:16 GMT
I dont get it how you can for example lose 1M vs someone in a heads up and continue to play. I mean where is the limit if not the millions :S

The limit is: "ups, no more money in my account to reload"
