Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates now speaks out about the defeat of Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom in the third edition of the heads-up challenge SuperStar Showdown.
When Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom on sunday beat Eugene Katchalov in SuperStar Showdown IV, he of course changed the overall statistics for the challenge, to 3-1 in the Swede's favor.
It may be difficult to see who will step up and end his good run, where he now has three wins in a row. The toughest opponent on paper, is last year's most successful No Limit Hold'Em player, Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates, but Blom already taught him a lesson in the SuperStar Showdown III.
Cates initially refused to comment on the defeat, but now he comes into the subject.
- From the first time I played against Isildur1, it seems that his game has evolved greatly. He is much tougher than he once was. He has evolved a lot, "says Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates.
In previous matches between Cates and Blom, they have not only battled at the tables, but also in the chatbox. Cates, however, rejects that there would be any particular 'grudge' between him and the Swede.
- I would say that we are getting along just fine, and I think we both respect each other's game. I don't know Viktor very well, I just met him briefly at the PCA. I would say that we get along fine, "Cates says, and adds
- But of course there's rivalry between us. Viktor will beat me, and I will beat him.
