Yesterday PartyPoker announced that the Finnish poker pro Patrik Antonius will join Tony G, Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz, Vanessa Selbst, Sam Trickett, and other players for the $125k buy-in PartyPoker Premier League Poker V Main Event in Vienna between April 4th and 10th.

The event will be a part of the World Poker Tour Vienna festivities and the winner will be awarded with entry to the $25,000 WPT World championship at Bellagio, in addition to the leagues first prize.

The reigning Premier League Champion Andrew Frankenberger will take part this year as well and try to defend his title. Last November, he defeated Andrew Feldman, Sorel Mizzi and other notables to win the Premier League Mixed Games Championship for $100,000. Previous winners of the Premier League are David Benyamine, Andy Black, JC Tran and Juha Helppi.

This league’s first prize should be a dream, with a $125k buy-in, although they aren’t many, it must be enough to animate the race for the first place in years biggest winnings ranking. Also yesterday I received a letter from Partypoker, but it wasn’t an invitation for this event. They still want me playing other levels, he he! Mobsters can now find me during weekends at Partypoker also, I will give it another try to see if I can put my PP account with some profit, hope I do!

ah well he probably is sponsored to play anyway, too big of a name to ask to put the buy in from his own account i think, overall lineup for the tournament looks pretty impressive, but hey it's poker so we can expect anything i guess, one thing i would put a bet on is antonius not winning the tournament

That is great news for televised poker and good for Antonius himself for promoting himself on the television, great marketing strategy.

This means that soon Patrik Antonius will become a party poker pro player or what??

From what i understand this is a single event and i agree that probably pp paid PA's entry fee.

I hope not, i mean PA was not direct involved in the full tilt poker deal but he definately had some inside info, after the site was shut down he recognized in an interview that the only had 100 dollars left in his ftp account.

Still, this event should be interesting to watch considering the great line-up.
