The Australian Senate has given the approval for the Interactive Gambling Amendment Bill 2016 which effectively outlaws online poker from Australia's online entertainment landscape.

The bill was submitted to the senate last November by Minister for Human Services Alan Tudge. Included in the bill is legislation banning all internet gaming activities that have not been given permission by the new Interactive Gambling law.

Douglas "WCGRider" Polk admitted in a video blog a week ago, March 8 Wednesday, that when he was just starting out in the world of pro poker, he idolized Tom Dwan, who was once considered by many as one of the most-feared online cash game players in the world.

However, these days, he said he is no longer a big fan.

In the video blog, the 28-year-old Polk said that Dwan, who goes by the online nickname “durrrr”, might have an enormous outstanding debt to one of the world’s most successful sports bettors.

Amaya's ex-CEO David Baazov has sold seven million common shares amounting to $98.6 million. Baazov founded the Montreal-based gaming company and once acted as its CEO, but encountered legal troubles.

The sale leaves Baazov's with 17.6 million shares. This represents a 12.1% overall stake in the company's issued and outstanding common stock.
