Chicago-Minnesota Wild 02:00 2,10 3,80 2,80

Wild team scope: Minnesota, which has lost its past three games and six of its previous seven, had different defense pairings at practice Monday. Ryan Suter and Jonas Brodin skated together and Marco Scandella was placed with Jared Spurgeon. Suter admitted afterwards he's not a fan of the switch made by coach Mike Yeo and his staff. "Yeah, I don't know what's going on there," Suter, who normally plays with Spurgeon, told the Star Tribune. "He decided to change things up. I don't know what they're thinking. It's different. Like I've said, I need to play with a right-handed defenseman to give me more options, neutral zone, offensively and even coming out of (the) 'D' zone. It's not fair to put a guy on his off side. I don't (know) if that was just for practice today or what it is. They didn't say anything." Yeo expects Scandella to play after missing five games because of a lower-body injury. Minnesota recalled defenseman Christian Folin from Iowa of the American Hockey League on Monday and reassigned forward Jordan Schroeder after he cleared waivers. Goalie Devan Dubnyk will start Tuesday.

Blackhawks team scope: Chicago took two days off following the annual "Circus Trip" to Western Canada and California that ended with a 3-2 overtime loss at the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. The Blackhawks went 3-1-2 on the trip, taking eight of 12 available points despite getting outplayed in most games. "We played well in parts and didn't play good in some parts," defenseman Brent Seabrook told the Blackhawks website. "We got some points, so that's good." Kane has a point in 19 straight games, which is the new NHL record for a U.S.-born player. "Amazing to watch," coach Joel Quenneville said. "What he's been doing with the puck, generating, creating ... that line, offensively for us, has been the backbone of our team and he's been great." Crawford will likely start Tuesday.

N.Y.Islanders-N.Y.Rangers 02:00 2,40 3,80 2,40

Rangers team scope: New York will be without center Derek Stepan (broken ribs) and defenseman Kevin Klein (strained oblique muscle). With Klein out, defensemen Dan Boyle and Dylan McIlrath will play. "Dylan is going to slip in there and this is going to give him an opportunity, at least for the next 2-3 weeks here, to show that he's NHL-ready and that he can come in and contribute," coach Alain Vigneault said Tuesday. The Rangers ended a three-game losing streak Monday when they defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 at Madison Square Garden. The Islanders and Rangers are separated by six points in the Metropolitan Division. "For me, this game comes at the right time," Vigneault said. "We lost three in a row, won [Monday] night, and we've got a divisional opponent, a city opponent, a new building. They're going to be up and I can't see us not being up for this game. I'm sort of new to New York, but I've been here now three years and I've been through a couple of interesting, fun games against the Islanders. We've had some emotional, physical, high-paced against this team and that's what I'm looking forward to [Wednesday] night. I think for our team it's at the right time." Goalie Henrik Lundqvist will start.

Islanders team scope: New York is 3-0-1 in its past four games, thanks in large part to the goaltending of Thomas Greiss and secondary scoring from the likes of Strome, Josh Bailey and Cal Clutterbuck. Strome has two goals and two assists in three games since being recalled from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League last Thursday. "It's been mentioned a lot about the third and fourth lines trying to help out scoring-wise," Strome told Newsday. "There's a lot of pressure on those first two lines, so we have to chip in." As for Wednesday, Strome is excited to resume the Islanders-Rangers rivalry. "We've all had it circled for a while," he told the Islanders website. Greiss, who was signed July 1 to be the backup for Jaroslav Halak, has started the past two games (both wins). Coach Jack Capuano will announce his starting goalie after the morning skate.

Montreal-Washington Capit. 01:30 2,40 3,80 2,40

Capitals team scope: Defenseman Brooks Orpik won't play, but he is traveling to Montreal and will take part in the morning skate Thursday. He remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Washington has had an eventful week despite not playing for four days since its 4-2 win at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Goalie Braden Holtby was named NHL Second Star of the Month for November on Monday, and the Capitals engaged in team-building activities at Joint Base Andrews, formerly Andrews Air Force Base, in Maryland on Tuesday. Washington coach Barry Trotz referred to Holtby as the Capitals' eraser after practice Wednesday. "Goaltending is all about giving your team the attitude," Trotz told the Capitals website. "If you're unsure about your goaltending, you're not going to have much attitude in a positive way. You're always going to be doubting, the trust factor's not there, so it's like having a bad quarterback, it just doesn't work."

Canadiens team scope: Montreal coach Michel Therrien retained his new line combinations at practice Wednesday. Therrien reunited left wing Max Pacioretty and center David Desharnais on a line with Dale Weise during the Canadiens' 2-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He also paired Czech forwards Tomas Plekanec and Tomas Fleischmann with Paul Byron on right wing. "I'm happy I did it because it gave the team a lot of energy starting in the second period and with that energy, we were very dynamic," Therrien said. "It allowed our team to put a lot of pressure on the other team and limit their shots on goal, limit their chances and play within our structure, so the players were very positive about the changes that were made." Injured forward Michael Bournival was placed on waivers Wednesday. Bournival, who will report to St. John's of the American Hockey League if he is not claimed, has not played because of concussion-like symptoms.

Dallas Stars vs. Vancouver Canucks

The Dallas Stars are solid 59.4 percent favorites over the Vancouver Canucks. The Stars are favored by AccuScore simulations partly because they have a +2 edge in shots on goal and are projected for 30 shots on goal vs 29 shots for the Canucks. The Stars goalie(s) have the edge in save percentage at 90% compared to the Canucks goalie(s) who have a forecasted save percentage of 88.8%.

In this game my selection will be The Dallas Stars. I wish all fellow BRM the best of luck in their sports betting and poker tables.
