Maple Leafs team scope: After winning twice in its first 14 games, Toronto is aiming for its fourth straight victory. The Maple Leafs made it three in a row Saturday when goalie James Reimer helped them to a 4-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks at Air Canada Centre. Reimer, who made 43 saves Saturday, has a .945 save percentage over seven consecutive starts. After the game, coach Mike Babcock said he will discuss with his staff on the plane to New York whether he'll start Reimer again or Jonathan Bernier, who is 0-6-1 with 3.02 goals-against average. "We're happy with the way we're playing," defenseman Morgan Rielly said. "We're getting the results we want now. Out of the gate we were playing well but we weren't getting wins. We're happy now that has turned around for us. We just have to keep doing what has helped us these past couple games."
Rangers team scope: New York has outscored its opponents 29-10 during an eight-game winning streak, including a 2-1 win against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. The Rangers have earned at least one point in 12 straight (10-0-2). They are the first team that has at least 28 points in the first 17 games of a season after winning the Presidents' Trophy since the Detroit Red Wings had 29 in 2005-06. "A lot of guys made good decisions over the summer," forward Chris Kreider told the New York Post. "I don't know if it was extra motivation or what. A lot of it is leadership. The same leadership group coming back kind of sets the tone for the younger guys to follow. We've got some good chemistry with several lines; maybe at [this] time the past couple of years we were tinkering with that a little bit. It's just a tight-knit group and guys are working hard for each other." Lundqvist made 22 saves Saturday; Antti Raanta will start. He is 3-0-0 with an 0.67 GAA and a .976 save percentage.

Red Wings team scope: Zetterberg, Niklas Kronwall, Mike Green and Brendan Smith did not skate at Canadian Tire Centre on Sunday. Coach Jeff Blashill told the Red Wings website that Smith, who has the flu, will not play Monday, but the others will. Landon Ferraro practiced for the first time since he sustained a sprained knee Nov. 6. Teemu Pulkkinen (neck) proclaimed himself ready to play. Blashill, however, said that he will wait until after the morning skate to determine his lineup, including the starting goaltender. Petr Mrazek made 28 saves in a 3-1 loss against the Boston Bruins on Saturday. The Red Wings are 3-3-0 and have scored nine goals in November. "One thing we have to do is hit the net in order to create second opportunities," Blashill said. "Most goalies in the National Hockey League aren't giving up one on the first one, so you got to be able to get to those seconds, but you can't do that if you don't hit the net."
Senators team scope: Goalie Andrew Hammond sustained an undisclosed injury in practice Sunday. Matt O'Connor was recalled from Binghamton of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis. Turris and defenseman Jared Cowen did not practice. Coach Dave Cameron told the Senators website that Turris is "banged up" and will be a game-time decision. Turris has played in 272 consecutive games. Cowen is doubtful after he injured his foot blocking a shot against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday; he missed the Senators' 2-1 shootout loss against the New York Rangers on Saturday. After beginning November with an overtime win against the Montreal Canadiens and a shootout victory against the Winnipeg Jets, the Senators (1-1-2) have lost three of four. "I think part of the inconsistency is we get satisfied too easily," Cameron said.
