Toronto ML-Calgary Flames 00:30 2,30 3,80 2,50

Flames team scope: Calgary has won three of four after a 4-1 win at the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday to begin a three-game road trip. Goalie Jonas Hiller will start the second half of the back-to-back after Niklas Backstrom made 21 saves against Montreal to win in his first NHL game since Jan. 13, 2015. The Flames acquired Backstrom, 38, from the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 29. "He's worked so hard for us," center Sean Monahan said. "He comes in every day like a pro, and obviously that's a big win and we want to get that one for him." Monahan had two goals and an assist; he has seven points (five goals) in the past four games. Hamilton had three assists for the second time in four games.

Maple Leafs team scope: Forward Leo Komarov, whose 19 goals lead Toronto, will return after missing two games because of a lower-body injury, the Toronto Sun reported Sunday. Goalie Jonathan Bernier is expected to start. Rookie forward Nikita Soshnikov (upper body) will not play after he was injured in a 4-1 victory against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, the Maple Leafs' third win in their past four games. The 22-year-old has two goals and three assists in 11 games since being recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. With veteran forwards Peter Holland (upper body), Brooks Laich (personal reason), Brad Boyes (shoulder) and Tyler Bozak (concussion) out, young players William Nylander, 19, Connor Brown, 22, and Zach Hyman, 23, likely will stay up with the Maple Leafs, who were eliminated from contention for the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday. "There's way more excitement in the room when you're going in the playoffs and you're chasing the big silver trophy," coach Mike Babcock told the Sun. "That's a lot more fun than this. In saying that, they are good players and they're trying to get better."

Winnipeg-Vancouver Canuc. 01:00 2,15 3,80 2,65

Canucks team scope: Alexandre Burrows moved to a line with Daniel and Henrik Sedin in practice Monday. "I'm looking forward to it," Burrows told the Canucks website. "Hopefully we'll be able to get the team going a little bit, get some goals and lead that way." Vancouver has lost four games in a row. "We need to work harder," Burrows said. "We need to compete harder. Our intensity needs to be better." Forwards Derek Dorsett (upper body) and Jannik Hansen (ribs), and defenseman Yannick Weber (upper body), have accompanied the team on a three-game road trip. Defenseman Christopher Tanev (undisclosed) did not practice Monday. Forwards Brandon Sutter (broken jaw) and Radim Vrbata (lower body), and defenseman Alexander Edler (fractured tibia), will not play again this season, coach Willie Desjardins said.

Jets team scope: Forward Mathieu Perreault will be out indefinitely because of a concussion sustained in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Anaheim Ducks this past Sunday, according to the Jets website. Forwards Joel Armia (upper body) and Nikolaj Ehlers (eye), and defenseman Mark Stuart (hand), practiced Monday. None of the three will play Tuesday, coach Paul Maurice said. Maurice has not confirmed a starting goaltender; Michael Hutchinson and Ondrej Pavelec have alternated the past two starts. The power play is 1-for-28 in the past nine games. Forwards Chase De Leo, Scott Kosmachuk and Nic Petan remain on emergency recall. Winnipeg has lost nine of its past 12 games and 15 of its past 19 at MTS Centre as a four-game homestand continues.

N.Y.Rangers-Boston Bruins 01:00 2,20 3,80 2,60

Bruins team scope: Goaltender Tuukka Rask was under the weather and not at practice Tuesday. Rask will travel to New York with goalies Jonas Gustavsson and Jeremy Smith, the latter of whom was an emergency recall from Providence of the American Hockey League along with forward Frank Vatrano. "Our top two lines have been producing on a regular basis, but we need secondary scoring," coach Claude Julien told CSNNE.com about the move to bring up Vatrano, who has 33 goals in 33 AHL games and six goals in 30 NHL games this season. Boston is looking to avoid getting swept on a four-game road trip, having been limited to three goals in three games on the California portion of the swing. The Bruins have dropped to third in the Atlantic Division standings. "We haven't had big dips. Hopefully we can end [this streak Wednesday]," Julien said.

Rangers team scope: Lundqvist will start for New York, coach Alain Vigneault told Newsday. Forward Rick Nash, who had the decisive goal in a 4-2 win Monday against the Florida Panthers for his first point since returning from a bone bruise, took a maintenance day Tuesday. Vigneault said Nash woke up feeling a little sore but is expected to take part in the morning skate Wednesday. Defenseman Dylan McIlrath, who hasn't played since March 6 because of a knee injury, shed his non-contact jersey and practiced in a regular white jersey. Vigneault said McIlrath, who alternated with Dan Boyle on the third pairing with Marc Staal, isn't quite ready to return and New York will use the same defensemen from Monday. "Obviously our guys are healthy right now. I think they're going to roll with that," McIlrath told Newsday.

Winnipeg Jets-L.A.Kings 01:00 3,00 3,80 2,00

Kings team scope: It is not clear if forward Kris Versteeg (undisclosed) will be available, Lakingsinsider.com reported. He was in Los Angeles on Wednesday having treatment. Forward Tanner Pearson missed a 2-1 loss at the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday because of personal reasons; his status is unknown. Center Nic Dowd remains on recall from Ontario of the American Hockey League. Coach Darryl Sutter has not confirmed a starting goaltender (Jonathan Quick; or Jhonas Enroth, who has started twice since Feb. 14). Los Angeles has lost the first two games of a three-game road trip that ends here.

Jets team scope: Forwards Joel Armia (upper body) and Nikolaj Ehlers (eye) may be able to play, coach Paul Maurice told the Jets website Tuesday. Each player skated Tuesday before Winnipeg had a day off Wednesday. Maurice has not confirmed a starting goaltender; Michael Hutchinson and Ondrej Pavelec have alternated the past three starts. The power play is 1-for-34 in the past 10 games. Defenseman Julian Melchiori and forwards Chase De Leo, Scott Kosmachuk and Nic Petan remain on recall from Manitoba of the AHL. Winnipeg has lost 15 of its past 20 home games; a four-game homestand ends.

NJDevils-Washington Capit. 23:55 3,00 3,80 2,00

Capitals team scope: Forward T.J. Oshie (flu) did not practice Thursday and coach Barry Trotz said he doesn't expect him to play. If Oshie can't, Stanislav Galiev, who skated on the fourth line with Daniel Winnik and Mike Richards, would take his place. "We're leaving [for New Jersey] and [Oshie is] not coming with us, so I wouldn't expect him to play, but if he feels better tomorrow, maybe we'll throw him on a plane." Defenseman Jon Carlson will travel and likely will play; he has missed 13 games with a lower-body injury and hasn't played since Feb. 24. Trotz did not say whether Holtby, who has started four straight games, or backup Philipp Grubauer would be in goal. Holtby has 44 wins, four shy of tying the single-season record; Devils goalie Martin Brodeur won 48 in 2006-07.

Devils team scope: New Jersey defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0 on Thursday and is six points behind the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference. New Jersey has won five of its past seven games (5-2-0). "Obviously, there are a couple games left here, and right now, I think our group is just having a lot of fun trying to string some wins together in a playoff race here," said Palmieri, who had two goals Thursday. "I think some people count us out, but we haven't been eliminated yet, so we just want to keep going." Rookie Scott Wedgewood, who made 39 saves for his first NHL shutout and has won each of his first two starts, could be in net again; Devils coach John Hynes said they would discuss using him or Keith Kinkaid on the flight home.
