i testify that value investing is an investment paradigm that derives from the ideas on investment that Ben Graham and David Dodd began teaching at Columbia Business School in 1928 and subsequently developed in their 1934 text Security Analysis. Although value investing has taken many forms since its inception, it generally involves buying securities that appear under priced by some form of fundamental analysis.

I TESTIFY that this is my 2570th post in the BankRollMob forum. I am somewhat amazed that being the quiet shy person that I am that I have had this much to say over the last three or four years......God....have I been here that long? It seems only days since I first pondered the idea of joining the MOB. It's great to be here and great to see you all still going strong!

I must testify, that I am a little bit pissed right now. I have just heard that the Bankroll mob freeroll for those who have opened more than 100 doors in the christmas calender will probably take place at Duck Poker. I do not like that.

On the evening of January 6, 1957, I testify that Elvis Presley took to The Ed Sullivan Show stage for the last time and performed a number of songs including “Hound Dog,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Too Much,” “When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again,” and a gospel favorite, “Peace in the Valley.”
Following the performance, Ed looked to the audience (and the nation) going out of his way to compliment Elvis, saying “I wanted to say to Elvis Presley and the country that this is a real decent, fine boy, and wherever you go, Elvis, we want to say we’ve never had a pleasanter experience on our show with a big name than we’ve had with you. So now let’s have a tremendous hand for a very nice person!” With that, Elvis Presley, who was clearly appreciative of Ed’s support in the midst of all that was going on, took his final bow and exited the Sullivan stage for the last time.

i testify that book value or carrying value is the value of an asset according to its balance sheet account balance. For assets, the value is based on the original cost of the asset less any depreciation, amortization or impairment costs made against the asset.

----- First U.S. presidential election on Jan 7, 1789 -----
I testify that on this day in 1789, the United States, having recently adopted its Constitution, held its first presidential election according to one of the articles from http://www.politico.com.
Only white men who owned property voted. They choose electors who in turn voted for the candidates.
Unsurprisingly, the winning candidate proved to be George Washington, the Virginia landowner who had led the patriotic forces in the war against the British. Washington was sworn into office in New York on April 30, 1789.
Washington was a delegate to both constitutional congresses. He was unanimously named both as commander in chief of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War and as president of the constitutional convention that drafted the Constitution.
His popularity cut across the political spectrum, including those who advocated a strong central government (the Federalists, with whom Washington agreed), and those who sought to reserve most governmental powers to the states. (This group came to known as the Democratic-Republicans.)

----- Elvis Presley's 80th Birthday Celebrated With Reissues, New Website -----
I testify that January 8th marks what would have been Elvis Presley's 80th birthday, and, to commemorate the King, Legacy Recordings have planned a yearlong celebration of Presley's music for modern-day Elvis fans. First up, the singer's The Complete '60s Albums Collection Vol. 1 has been released onto iTunes. The set highlights all the LPs Presley recorded between 1960 and 1965 with newly mastered sound for the digital medium.
On Presley's birthday, a new website called ElvisTheMusic.com will go live, featuring a comprehensive online database of all things Elvis. Graceland will also livestream an 80th birthday celebration for the singer starting at 10:15 a.m. EST; Priscilla Presley is scheduled to appear at the event.
