Re-installed Pokerstars last week. Have decided to play the offered freerolls in the hopes to acquire a Leaderboard ticket and parlay into real money to bankroll my poker play.
Also enrolled for the 150$ no-deposit bonus @ partypoker. It says it will take 2-4 business days so i will check back on the status.
To recap, my goals are as follows:
Acquire 5 million free-play chips at Pokerstars.com Acquire a Pokerschool Open Ticket Reach the leaderboard for BRM and Facebook pokerleague.
Games i intend to play today:
Play Money No Limit HE Heads up tournament(5200 chips)

Hey thanks for the hint. I passed both the core quiz and the SNG quiz but never received a thing.
Im playing play money because bankroll management is my issue. Ive played for money before and discipline is what i feel i really lack. Also playing play money i find you get a better handle on dodging bad players and bad beats. If i can manage in a game where someone randomly dumps allin then playing against more logical opponents should be easier.
As a note to my blog. I was unregistered due to insufficient players. I played in the pokerschool open and enjoyed a stack of 26k before my KK was drawn against by Kj hearts.
The bankrollmob i encountered a similar bad beat with 6500 in chips right before 1st break.

I did what jibberish suggested but instead of recieving a ticket. I found some stats and thought what better way to help chronicle my journey.

if your looking into building a bankroll you should consider playing heropoker, they have 5$ freeroll 24man SnG's running every little while, easy money and if your decent u can play the tourneys around 6pm est which pays final table 11$ ea regardless of position... plus tourney is only like 150 donkies its good to start off a little bankroll you can easily grind 40-50$ in a week there if your a decent casual player
Man, if you are playing play money you won't learn anything about poker, neither bankroll management nor strategies ... absolutely anything. People don't play in the same way when it's free than when they are paying money for playing. My advise is: don't waste more time playing play money, this is for children.

damn i wish i could rate these comments LOL. Ill try the heropoker. Im being verified at partypoker for my roll as well.
Also im not sure if this is still available but i used to be able to sell playmoney pokerstars chips to someone on Fulltit for 16$ a million. I think stars may dislike that option so ill have to check to stay in good books.
Im not sure if i already used my pso ticket i got from sng quiz. you only get one? other quizzes help? im carrying a 80% on them with no reading so it wouldnt be much to finish off the others? if it got me a ticket that is...
oh, ill be playing in the 1 pm est pso and bmr freerolls. look me up!

I'll buy some playmoney if you're willing to sell as soon as you hit your target,probably the cheapest way for me if I decide to tilt sometime for whatever reason $16/million is waaaaaaay beyond a realistic rate tho,I believe Ive read it used to be some years ago,but nowdays you wont find a site that pays $5/million or more (the sites that do pay more have several domains and scam people,lol)

Don't dream too high or you will be hurt so much, lol. To be winning poker player is hard enough.

5$ per million is really cheap. It used to be way higher. Ive been afk for a bit but i enjoy playing so stakes arent what matters.
Ive tried heropoker.com and after a timely delay with email verification i got on the client but the freerolls are restricted. im not sure if they are real money restricted like party poker but imho thats so silly. It also promotes very poor play in those games because only losers who have lost their money can play them.

I know variance,I've felt variance and I know how I react to it However,if you play good volume it's not possible to never get frustrated You can deal with variance,but you cant "ignore" downswings

of note: Ive an appointment to keep at 2 pm promptly. I will try and achieve a realistic stack to sit out with for the half hour needed but unsure about the prospects.

just under 10k in the bmr game. Just lost a key hand in the BB with 24 hjearts. no raise and flop of 335. i was first to act and min bet. button called. turn a 4. i bet min 2x the blinds and am flatted. river 9 with a fast check by the other player. no value so i check and button shows A9 os.... boylo22.
------------ bb again and holding A9 clubs. 200/400. stack of 9700. utg +3 pushes for another 400. i call and lose to A8 os on river. should have folded.
well gl to all and im hoping i survive the appointment.

think i went out around 900-1000th. sat out with 9k in chips right before first break in 417th.

yeah i tried and i can read. the games tourney eligibility says "coming soon" but apart from that i cant find a thing about not being able to even though im from Canada.
1$ 10 player speed he. went out 8th. the game was an allin fest and when i got QQ i likely should have folded knowing what and how many hands were likely to join.
3$ 10 player he. 1st for +13$ 5$ 10 player he. 1st for +22$
Both games i got paid off using premium only hands. End on a high note for the day up over 100%

After a long morning of grinding and multy tabling both cash and sit and go im utterly disenchanted with partypoker. Beyond the low player amounts ie 7-10k max during am est. The play is horrible. I have tried waiting on hands and then betting appropriately only to find i cant scare out 710 clubs or j10 diamonds. I am used to low limit poker being conducive to allins on first hand and other nonsense but to wait until final table or bubble to call off your stack with k9 when your in second place in chips is redonkulous. I noticed it seems the chip leader has a hard time finding a way to lose as well.
Cash is even more atrocious. Which isnt to say i didnt expect it but im really of the mind most of the people playing low stakes are ndb players who saturate the market with more of a gambling mentality then poker play.
I played low stakes pot limit omaha and even with a profitable session it was amazing how many people build up the pot for more of a no limit game then pot limit. I moved up to the .25/.50 omaha pl hl and it was even crazier.
I had my session history sent to my mail and ill be updating here with the info when i get the chance. im going for a hot tub and beer...

Decided after taking a 5 game loss to play some relaxing freerolls. Enrolled in a australian open event for free on party poker with 1048 players. 25 got a ticket. I received my ticket and was chip leader with 526,000. was a plo game. The ticket was a 2$ rebuy game with like 30 people in it. 25 of which like me are freerollin.
was pretty tired and decided to not play the game. advice to freerollers. dont even bother with a game that forces you to play the next available game. no guareentee you will even want to.

------------ I agree i prefer to play 1 freeroll then end with a prize instead of a ticket to round 2. It always happens to me sit in a freeroll for ages then get my ticket then when round 2 starts im unable to play because im at work it sucks lol
