i played in that also. did you know Karina Jett along with other pros play in it? i felted her once when it was a plo tourny.
i love their podcast but its hardly poker. ill add you. i think its down on the bottom right and the "add contact" toggle

Yesterday i had felt my game was back on point and i was making much better decisions after a few days of crazy chasing. There is something about making a monster laydown and seeing it was the right move that just compels you to keep it up. Also when things go bad i insulate. I try and recall what i did that was successful while trying to limit what wasnt as much. One thing i know that helps me at poker. I hate to be outsmarted. It happens all the time but just knowing my donkey call could give that smug bugger my chips does wonders for my game. Alternatively i feel compelled to make hero calls when i think im being bluffed. Thats the bad part that needs to go. People win with A7 or 22-77 with allins in early position but it isnt more then they lose im sure. Calling with the same range of hands even if the villain goes allin 5 hands in a row is likewise dangerous. One thing i would like to change and will look to change is my table talk. I can be a polarizing figure and simply put having people gun for you is not good. This only happens when i engage in negative banter. Being kind and respectful hurts noone and improves everything. wishful thinking but i will try. Nothing drove home this point more then last night. My GF always wants to play some of my game and sometimes she does and shes super tight but coyly aggresive at times. I cant read a thing off her. Girls are so different but i wont get into that again. . So i suggested she try heropoker.com. First i made her sign up here for the points and the calendar because she always did mine. Well point is she finally got to playing on heropoker.com and last night she played in the triumvirate 100$ nl he game. i think it started with 146 players or so and she was in first or second for the whole thing. I watched her and was amazed at how well she played. She was also sitting at a table with a fellow BRM.com member. I hope he doesnt mind me saying his username but it would avoid people asking if it was them. Actually maybe i wont have to. She ended up felting him and another player at the same time. Hero had AK brmmer had AQ and Villain had 66. Hero acts first i beleive and mins. Brm calls and villain calls. I actually cant recall how it happened but i think AQ made a move. 66 called a 3bet and AK called the turn bet and rivered a flush. So i was happy for her. Sad for the mober and well didnt really care much about the guy with 66. The villain goes on a tirade. Calling the hero a donk and the brm a donk and typical stuff. The BRMer then says GG and tells the villain hes a donk for calling down with 66. I call the GF up to congratz her and shes all sad. She says poker isnt fun when people yell like that and she would have folded if she knew he had 66. I couldnt even understand why she cared what that a$$ said or thought or even felt. She did say she was glad the BRM member spoke out because she just wanted him to stop. My girl isnt a pushover but she is warm hearted and i never even considered how negative comments or tilted talk could bother her. She got called a donk a few times during the game and to me its hilarious. She never bet more then min. She played the best small pot poker i think ive ever seen and the only time she got called donk was because she would min bet AA then call 2 allins where they both thought they were making hero bluffs. Did i mention she was in 1st the whole game? She did try to push 27 offsuit once but only as a min bet bluff. Im leaving how it ended a mystery. I get enough flack for having a poker blog. i dont need her getting flack for dating a guy with a poker blog lol.
My point is i can be a huge ass and poker is pretty cut throat but people do have feelings and im going to try my best at being respectful and polite so i dont expose other peoples loved ones to such mean things. Some people deserve it i agree. some people are just trying their best though and should be allowed to get lucky without having to hear about it a million times.
Now all that aside. im almost afraid to see how long that paragraph looks. I was looking at a site that has stats and noticed i had been playing at hero nearly a month and figured id make a monthly progress report via attachment.

I am not sure I understand your long story but your stats is very wonderful , I am jealous Great Micro !!!! If I have record like that I will try higher buy in Is 100K MTT there ? You can try via satelite $2.2 buy in . With your skill I am sure you have chance get prize at main even ( $100 K GTD . I ever play 3 times thru freeroll until get $109 ticket, but no won prize at main event.

I havent played in the 100k at hero yet no. I have played in the "100 seats to the 100k freeroll". I get a ticket to the freeroll each week for getting 100 vip points. It's on saturday. I have also noticed the many satellites but they are shove fests.

What a rough day. Was in top ten in almost every game i was in only to face a dastardly end either just in or close to the money.
Won a 11$ ticket by finishing 5/4500 in the 200$ plo freeroll. It was yesterday and i was second in chips when i made a silly pot sized bet into cl who promptly snapped me off with QQ10j. I was double suited with a low pair. Silly of me.
I decided to use it today in a game id typically not play in. A 11$ freezeout. The field was 150 players which was concerning since i wasnt sure what type of players usually play in the game. I still have a bit of aggro in me from a couple beats earlier in the day so i decided to just play tight poker the first hour.
Very first hand i get is 57 diamonds in the sb. I bought in late and blinds were 50/100. it was a 3k deepstacks game. two callers before me and i flat the 50 and the bb checks. A57. Giggling about the thread i just posted on brm. I check it and find myself looking a pot sized bet in the face from the first caller. second guy folds and i decide. hey why stop now. i flat. the BB flats and im instantly wishing i bet. turn is a glorious 2. About the only card im not worried about coming. Though instantly A2 comes into my mind. I check which im sure is silly but ive trapped so far and if i am right about them both having an Ace im getting paid if i can fade the river. BB checks. villain goes allin. I call and bb folds. villain has A10. river is a Q im sitting above 8k. I get moved right after that.
boy this would be so much easier if i just found out how to export HH's. they are all saved bu its such a weird system.
Next hand i play is 55 utg. i min raise in the hopes to stop others from raising. In all cases i never play pocket pairs in early position for anything more then a small bet or a flat. I let them go to any raise more then reasonable. Pretty much im looking to flop a set. I get 3 incl the bb. Flop comes 65 10. bb dives allin. I flat. next guy also dives and the other guy folds. I call and bb has A7 and the early caller has A6. This is a 11$ dollar game. turn comes 8 and i change games. I cant look.
The most glorious sound can be heard telling me i won the hand. Phew.
I sit around and do everything i can to not play hands. Folding anything below 99 in early position and seeing it rewarded by monster bets right after accompanied by monster hands.
I lost with QQ to an allin by ss with A10. that takes me down a bit but cements my table image. I then wait for non confrontational hands to try and take some chips from the blinds. A player has now come to the table with 60k in chips and a bad habit of raising every hand. These players kill me usually. i make brave reads and then hero calls too many times which only puts me at risk.
He then moves from raising to diving once he is over 100k. sitting at 25k and being forced to give every blind to this guy something needed to be done. I waited and waited but even when someone called him he would either suck out or have a monster. Uncanny how that happens. More uncanny is how that is a style many profitable players employ. Well sitting at 18k now and still not a Asuited or better i pick up K6 in the small blind and tell myself if that guy dives this hand im calling and letting fate work it out. blinds are 800/1600. He ofc dives and i pray someone anyone calls him before me. Nope. I call. 55. dang. i watch the cards come down and even go so far as to say "one time" knowing im such a sucker for playing that hand. flop blank. turn pairs the board. River K. OMG. The villain scoffs at my play and im ashamed. He doesnt beat on me just a k6? Says he understands and GL. nice guy. Another side note. Good players are usually well tempered. He proceeds to make the chips back by diving everyhand. Although he is table avg now he still gets folded to... guys showing AJ 99 KQ a bunch of stuff and him returning the favor with 109, 68, A4. uncanny.
Luckily i get moved soon after and with 25 players left im sitting with in 8th. top 18 get paid. I get AK in the SB. button shoves. i dive. BB calls. Im not at risk but this is a big pot. button has mandatory Q8 clubs bb has AJ. button is ss and bb has half my chips covered. J on the turn. Yucky. Sitting in 17th now and cursing my luck i am forced to start hoping people drop. My mind is thinking at this point im already out in 19th. Very next hand im on button and pick my first pair of AA's all game. UTG dives for 20k. big stack utg +1 min raises to 40k. Im forced allin and the pot is around 90k. AA for me A10 for UTG and JJ for cl. I hold. It felt awesome. Back in the top 5 i sit around and wait.
We reach final table and im still sitting strong in the top 5. First hand i get is AJ utg. Man, what do i do? i dont want to play the hand and lose to a cold deck or a loose caller and im not going allin and running into a made hand like jjQQKAA AKAQ also have me worried. I cant play scared and decide to open for 25k. blinds are 5/10k. utg+1 has 40k and dives. Man. He shows AK and im back below the table avg.
I stay quiet waiting for hands and pick up QJ. it gets folded to me on button and sb has me covered but BB is ss. I dive. im under 10 bbs and convince myself i have to. BB calls with 22. i flop a J. Next hand i again pick up AA. the large stack dives allin and a ss calls. i call with my 100k and double to 200k and a sturdy second. i wait a few orbits and with only 4 players left and im in a virtual tie with the cl where the other two have 50k. I tell myself let them go out. they will go out. just wait. Oh AK. utg with the cl in BB i raise to 50k. they both fold and cl flats me. Dirty bastard. why would he? he must have a good hand. flop comes 3 diamonds. AxK He checks. I cbet. he flats me again. im lost. i havent a clue what is going on. So i dive with nothing on the turn. he snaps me off and out with A5 diamonds.
I bet you never thought id write such a long story with an unhappy ending huh? 4th brought me 120$ but boy o boy do i shoot myself in the foot sometimes.

Been playing well last couple of days but havent translated that into any big returns. In fact at one time i min cashed in 3 straight games. I receive tickets to micro mtt's each level i achieve on hero. Ive a large cache of 25c and 50c tickets so i used a fast fifty ticket and parlayed that into a 21$ first. Heads up was a challenge and even though i started at 4-1 we went back and forth and the lady i played against was extremely good at avoiding my good hands. Most of the tourny i just 2/3 pot bet all my hands and would either get folded to or dived into. Its a pretty loose tourny and if u just wait for hands and max bet you should cash. Lay down small pairs if your game is at risk and Aj or worse as well. Sure ull be ahead more times then not with Arag but u wont live long with all the grenades.
I have had a rut of extremely poor late game play. In one game i was in 10th with top 20 paid and 30 remaining and i open for half my stack utg with 1010. Worse part is a loose player then dives putting me at severe risk if i loose. I call and run into JJ. Silly. i should have opened but for much less. I know many will feel this is a cold deck and i need to play the hand but i min cashed because of it instead of being able to make my moves.
Another game i ran into the same player 2 times who is extremely loose but a good player. All the best players on merge are complete nut jobs it seems like. I know there is a fine line between insane and genius but i dont know how some of them do it. 3 barrel with air is nothing compared to the floats and moves some make. I can't help but feel they are soo good and there rolls are soo deep they can afford to go with their gut more often then most. In one hand with two others allin i min bet a gut draw to try and see another card. The guy dives with 56 and the board is 910A. I have KJclubs. I fold and he hits runner runner club to draw a small flush and take the pot.
Another lesson i learned from... oh this is the same player i referred to as a bomb in one of my earlier posts if anyone cares. Never bet less then 2/3 pot when u have a good hand.

nice cash wi the free tokens.cant do bad at that i was runnin bad but turned myself around shipping 3 $5 PLO tourneys in a row, cashin in a few more.so gettin br back on track.
it does seem that alot of loose players gettin rewarded extremely well but what can u do but concentrate on ur own game..

A work in progress . Poker is really fun when you don't care so much. More importantly there are alot of nice people who are playing micros to learn. I also have found reading up on EV has tempered my rage a bit. Some people are asses and me one of the biggest at times, like life its just best to roll with the punches.

The game of poker. oi oi oi. So the last i dunno how many days... ive either min cashed or bubbled each tourny i played. Today was pretty epic in terms of runbad but i never lost hope. I started off with a late run in my first game. Sitting with around 50k in chips and just squeeking into final two tables i move allin in early position with 55. The monster stack calls me with J7. turns a 7. I am felted in 11th.
I then make my way thru the first break of my next 3 games only to go out with AK jj and AQ all in good. That was also fine. i was playing good and when i play good its only a matter of time it feels like.
So in the big game. my dear3k frenzy i get off to a blazing start and find myself at 65k with 30 mins till the addon. i then pick 66 utg and min bet it. i get two callers and the flop comes 682. Blinds being pretty high i figure a bet doesnt look to dangerous and get called by one. turn brings a J and is the third club. I bet pot and he pops me back pot. I know he has the Ac but i dive anyways and he called AJ Ac. river club. I still have over 35k so it wasnt a big deal and i made sure to play tight poker. At break i was at 50k in chips. Fastforward another hour later and with 80 people left, 72 make money and in middle position with utg diving for all 150k in chips i am dealt KK. So what would you do? what could you do? he dove? he has dove every hand hes played meaning AA is unlikely. But when u did see his dive called he had either a mid pp or a rag ace. So begrudgingly i called off my 149k stack. He had AJ. above the hand i gave him but the Ace was all i was really worried about. Flop is clean. Turn is dreamy and just as i am about to exhale the Ace drops. He now is safely in top 15 and i am left to wonder if i misplayed the hand. Most people will say its standard for the hand to result like that. At the end of the day i know its just poker. I also know ive cracked KK with far worse but it just stings when its so deep in the game.
Maybe i should be thankful for the fun i had for so cheap. Either way i will be back at it soon enough. May all ur cards hold!

General Observations over the last couple days have given me some perspective. When a player has his premium hands busted and is only playing abc poker. Things can get upsetting. Seeing KQ beat AA or A3 rake a monster pot over QQ and JJ in a single hand makes one question their tactics. Dont be mislead. Hands hold and fall but playing good poker is a system that works.
Playing rebuys can shake ones faith. Know you are gonna take a beating going in. Maybe you can hold but likely you will take a beating in the first hour. Play tight and never declare in early position with less then QQ. This is just my own personal philosophy.
Yesterday was a good day. I played a light schedule of games. Typically i play in all the 1.10 gtd's along with the 1$ dazzlers. Yesterday i was feeling a bit intimidated by the 1$ dazzlers since they are freezeouts and with even an addon min cashing is break even. I was mostly soured by my 81st in the frenzy the night before.
I missed the fast fifty (ticket game i usually play to warm up) but made it into the horse freeroll. I really like playing horse. Its so much more stimulating and way less risky in terms of being felted. I really just fold down until i get hands but usually make some ground in razz or plo. 7hi/lostud is also a good game to pick up chips waiting on hands. My first game was the 1$ Dazzler $400 gtd rebuy. I added on at start to 4k chips. Noone ever does this and maybe im wrong for doing it but regardless i made it deep but then ran into a loose dive from early and had KK. I was felted in 14th when i had 7th in chips and faced 5th so i would have been safe. I ended up min cashing for 4$ and was left wondering if i should have folded.
Next on the dockett was the 1.10$ $200 gtd deepstack. I was already pretty deep in this when the dazzler felted me. Sitting in 4th with 150 left i decided to stick to the plan but play even tighter so i could avoid the min cash effect. I know sitting on a stack is bad but i was stil wondering if my hands would ever hold in late stage play. I managed to stay in the top ten until we hit the money. As soon as we hit the money i picked up 33 in middle postion and bet 3xbb. next player snap calls me. bb calls. Flop comes 389 with two I cbet. the player flats me and bb calls along. turn is J . I bet Pot this time which places both players at risk for their game. Villain A flats and Villain B dives. I call. Villain A is holding AJ A the villain who dove has A8. i cant recall the river but it was not the 3 of clubs. but it was a club. This placed me in the bottom 4 of the players left. I managed to fight back and ended winning the game. I will admit i was allin twice and behind against the same player final 3 and sucked out. Both times if the player had of held i would have been out.
The next game i played was the 3k frenzy. I played tight as possible in the first stage (rebuy) I went into break with 5th in chips at around 140k. I again lost with trip 3's and another time with AK to AQ and was just able to crawl into the money. Once in i played abc poker and made it into the top ten and right before table merge with only 9 players left i picked up A9. Loose player (i thought) opens for 280k. Stupidly i shove. I had seen him play K5 Q9 A5 numerous times and was thinking a nice semi bluff could take it. NOPE. he had JJ and i bet off my stack. Part of my loose play had to do with me seeing 10th had just went out. So i went out in 9th and oddly am content. I know i played the last hand bad but i really dont mind going out when i go in behind.

It's on the merge network so i think that's why. Typically i see the players hover around 10k on average. Which is misleading because the nl he freeroll maxes out at 5k players every time. Pretty sure they only tell me how many are on Hero even though merge has altogether more players then that. Just a guess.
