On Wednesday, a Roman Catholic priest was placed on five years' probation and ordered to repay around $240,000 that he had stolen from his former workplace to fuel a gambling addiction. Rev. Stephen M. Gemme, 45, the former pastor of St. Bernadette Parish in Northboro, stole the money from the church and its school over a five-year span.

Brian Altman and Mark Dube had 72% of the chips in play when the final table of the World Poker Tour Lucky Hearts Poker Open kicked off on Wednesday. The two Americans continued doing well on the final table and ended up playing heads-up within just a few hours. The 1-on-1 battle lasted for over two hours, with Altman being out in front the majority of the time.

On Friday, a stabbing over an alleged gambling $5 debt took place in a parking lot in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The accused, 51-year-old Anthony Lemar Mells (picture), stabbed a man he known for several years twice in the stomach and once in the head.

In 2012, former Full Tilt Poker owner Howard Lederer revealed to PokerNews that former Full Tilt Poker Pro Erick Lindgren owed the company $2 million dollars. The schedule for the 46th annual World Series of Poker was released on Monday. The tournament series will run from May 27 to July 14 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The schedule contains a record 68 bracelet events and nearly $200 million in guaranteed prize money.
