On Sunday, the first starting day of three kicked off at Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. 183 players bought in for $10,600 each (8 more than Day 1a of last year's Main Event) and 97 players were still sitting at the tables after seven 90-minutes levels of play.

On Saturday, poker pro Kyle Loman tweeted about a massive game taking place in Bobby's Room at Bellagio in Las Vegas. Todd Brunson, son of poker legend Doyle Brunson, and Andy Beal, a Texas billionaire who made his fortune through real estate and banking, played heads-up limit hold'em with $50,000/$100,000 blinds. The two bought in for $5 million each and Brunson had all the chips in play at the end of the game.

The 2015 Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) began yesterday and will continue running until February 1st. A total prize pool of $15,000,000 is spread across 50 faced-paced events, including the $2 million guarantee Main Event on February 1 (the winner will get at least $300,000). TCOOP features events that are different from any other PokerStars tournament schedule, and there are satellites to all events from as little as $0.11 or 1 FPP!

The movie, which is written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, is about a gambler, Gerry (Ben Mendelsohn), on a losing streak who teams up with a younger charismatic poker player, Curtis (Ryan Reynolds), in an attempt change his luck. The two hit the road together and travel from town to town and casino to casino with the vision of winning back what has been lost.

On Monday, the largest ever Spin & Go prize pool was paid out on PokerStars, with Russia's "sss66666" taking home $1,000,000 of the $1.2 million prize pool! According to Russian PokerStars Blog, sss66666 is a 33-year-old handyman who used to work long and hard in southern Russia to make ends meet.

The third and final day of the record-breaking PCA $25k High Roller saw 11 players returning, all with the $1.29 million first-place prize in sight! The relatively unknown Canadian poker player Jean-Pascal Savard had the chip lead when the day started and he made it on to the final table of eight. Although he outlasted pokerstars Faraz Jaka and Scott Seiver on the final table, he eventually ran out of luck (and chips) and finished in 4th place for $508,080.

Although Chance Kornuth was the big chip leader when the final table resumed yesterday, it was Kevin Schulz with the second largest stack who dominated play almost entirely until heads-up play. The 28-year-old American currently living in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, had a 4-1 lead over Diego Ventura, from Peru, when the final battle began.

The second day of the $25,000 High Roller saw a field of 129 players returning to the poker tables. It was an action-packed day of poker, given that only 11 players remained after ten levels of play - including big names such as Scott Seiver, Faraz Jaka and Dominik Nitsche.

The 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event has been running over the weekend and the final 59 players will return at noon today for Day 4. All the remaining players are in the money as the money bubble popped in Day 3 when 119 players remained. A minimum cash is now worth $24,140 and the last man/women standing at the end of it all will take home a massive $1,491,580 first-place prize!

On Thursday, 220 players entered Day 1A of the 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event for $10,300 each. Play wrapped up after after eight levels of play with PokerStars Team Online's Alex "Kanu7" Millar out in front with 169,100 in chips. Other notables to make it through to Day 2 included football legend Ronaldo (43,300), Daniel Colman (40,500), Vanessa Selbst (39,300) and Isaac Haxton (26,500).

On Tuesday, PokerStars announced on 2+2 that it has cancelled the increased rake, which was implemented in November 2014, for all games expect Spin & Go's. The introduction of increased rake and more changes for 2014 were not well received when announced in October last year, so the cancellation of those changes are very good news for the players of PokerStars.
