How and when might live poker return?
I don't know about you folks, but I'm really starting to miss playing live poker. Sitting around a table, shuffling chips, talking s**t. Drinking too much coffee. The steady, mellow pace that can make 12 hours pass before you've noticed. I love it, I miss it, and it looks unlikely any of us will get to play any time soon. The organizers of the World Series of Poker has finally succumbed to the inevitable, postponing this year's largest, richest and most prestigious poker event in the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Monday, April 20, WSOP organizers announced that the 51st edition of the event originally scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, May 26 from the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is officially being postponed as a result of the public health emergency involving the novel coronavirus. They are aiming to reschedule in autumn, with exact dates and events yet to be released.

Various annual huge events this year 2020 have already been postponed, moved, or even cancelled due to the coronavirus scare. The 2020 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju, South Korea that was supposed to start on February 10 until 22 at the Landing Casino, has been ‘postponed until further notice' due to the Coronavirus outbreak that wreaked havoc in China recently.

According to Triton's news page on Friday, the organizers of the event said the decision was made due to the coronavirus outbreak and the ‘global emergency' called by the World Health Organization on Thursday.
