9 players reentered before Day 2 of the EPT Grand Final High Roller kicked off, which boosted the total amount of entries from 205 to 214 (the largest High Roller on European soil in EPT history).

Day 1 of the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo Casino EPT Grand Final High Roller attracted 158 players (37 more than last year) and 47 of them used their option to reenter the tournament, which brought the total to 205 entries so far (registration is open until the start of Day 2). However, no matter how many more players enter today, this High Roller is already the largest one to date on European ground. 

According to PokerStars Blog, 104 players survived the first day with Germany's Benny Spindler bagging up the largest stack (384,300). Spindler will be joined today by the likes of Viktor Blom (26k), Steve O'Dwyer (47k), Jason Mercier (47k), Daniel Negreanu (110k) and a whole bunch of other superstars in the poker world.

17 players made it through Day 4 of the 2014 PokerStars EPT Grand Final Main Event. The plan was to play down from the 41 remaining players to the final two tables, but apparently five 90-minute levels of play were not enough to do so.

Day 3 of the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final Main Event (buy-in €10,600) saw 123 players returning to the tables. After several 90-minute levels of play, the field was narrowed down from 123 to just 41 players, who will battle for a seat at the final table over the next two days.

Another day is in the books at the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final Main Event. After six 75-minute levels of play in Day 2, Russia's Vladimir Troyanovskiy bagged up the largest stack (450,500) amongst the 123 remaining players. Troyanovskiy is a regular in the Super High Roller and High Roller tournaments on the European Poker Tour and, believe it or not, he played final tables in both of them at the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

On Saturday, after 5 days of play, the final six players of 326 returned to the Borgata Hotel and Casino to play the World Poker Tour World Championship final table. Keven Stammen (USA) held a pretty decent chip lead when the cards were in the air, and he remained out in front nearly all the way to the title!

Afriat, who won the recent Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for $1,081,184, will bring 2,029,000 chips (400k more than his closest competitor) into Day 4 and has set up himself well to make a second WPT final table in a row.

Two-time Oscar winner George Clooney was in Las Vegas about two weeks ago to promote his Casamigos tequila. During his stay there he and some of his business partners had dinner at Botero (a luxurious restaurant inside Wynn's Encore hotel) with hotel-casino developer Steve Wynn and his wife Andrea. I stayed approximately 2 weeks in Egypt and, unfortunately, I can't say that it was a very successful trip. I lost in the first round of both singles tournaments simply because I was playing bad. I made it to the semi-finals in doubles, but I don't consider doubles as important - I'm more focused on singles.

On Monday, Day 1A of the World Poker Tour World Championship kicked at Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, USA. A total of 105 players (most them well-known pros from the U.S.) showed up and 62 made it through the day with Paul Volpe (US pro with over 2.4 million in live tournament earnings) out in front with 215,300. Other notable players that bagged up plenty of chip were Jerry Wong (198,000), Brandon Steven (195,500), Scott Seiver (192,500) and Anthony Gregg (190,600).

The second starting day begins at 11 a.m. ET. Players that fell during Day 1A will be able to register again today while registration remains open until the start of Level 7. We will be back with another brief update tomorrow morning!

A big congratulations to Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren who ended up winning the EPT Sanremo Main Event yesterday for €476,100 and a SLYDE watch! Coren, from UK, was the first women to win an event on the European Poker Tour when she took down the EPT London Main Event in 2006.

Just like Day 1 & Day 2, Day 3 had a new chip leader when the tournament director called it a day after five 90-minute levels of play. Spain's Raul Mestre will be leading the final 39 players into Day 4 with a stack of 942,000, and not far behind him are, for example, Day 2 chip leader Lukas Berglund (867k) and Oliver Busquet (806k) who has over $4.2 million in live tournament earnings.
