Facebook is a great place to set up and organise events, but you better think twice before organising your next home poker tournament there, especially if you live in the land down under. David Desmond Bowen, 32, from Tasmania (an island state, part of the Commonwealth of Australia) invited 25 friends to his Facebook-event, a $150 buy-in home poker tournament at a house in Norwood last October. Somehow police were alerted about it and took action.

A 12-year-old boy was caught red handed cheating at online poker last week when police officers raided his home in Tianjin, China. The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was reported to the authorities over a month ago by his own parents who had started to get suspicious when their son booked a trip for the whole family to Las Vegas. It didn't take long before they found out that he had earned hundreds of thousands of dollars at online poker by using a homebuilt device to cheat against other players.

You may have wondered why I didn't write anything last week. You may not have, and that's okay too. The reason for my absence was due to what happened to me whilst walking home from the casino last Tuesday night.
One of the many drawbacks of working at a casino, along with handling drunk people and the fact that they're playing poker and you're not, is that your shift often ends early in the morning. Usually between that gap between after the last bus for the night and before the earliest bus the next morning.

It has been hard for me to find the motivation to play poker in the past few weeks as my favoruite tables (and stakes) at Full Tilt aren't filling up quickly enough with other players. I have also tried Omaha and NL Hold'em cash games, but no luck there either. I need to work a lot on my game (cash game), but I just don't feel like I have enough time to spare. For now I guess I will stick to SnG and tournaments instead...
