Liv Boeree is probably the "hottest" female poker player at the moment. Yesterday, she took down the Main Event of EPT San Remo (the biggest ever EPT in Europe) and became a euro millionaire. Even though this is her first major tournament win, she's definitely not a new face in the poker world. Liv has been around for quite some time and been interviewed many, many times.

So, Liv is a successful poker player, millionaire, model, TV presenter, guitar player and seems to a be a fun and interesting person to hangout with. The dream girlfriend, some would say. Well, if you're good at dancing you can try to impress her - just like Daniel Negreanu did at a PokerStars party 1 year ago.

A big congratulations to Liv Boeree, a poker player, model, guitarist and TV presenter from UK, who took home the Main Event of EPT San Remo yesterday. I must say that I'm very, very impressed how good she played at the final table. She had been quite anonymous until the final table started (probably for a reason?), but then she showed the guys her poker skills! It came to be Jacob Carlsson, who had a big chip lead in the beginning of the day, and Boeree who were the last 2 "men" standing.

Even though Jacob had such a big lead in the beginning of the day, it was Liv Boeree who had the big chip lead when they started playing heads up. Liv continued playing fantastic poker throughout the heads up and she ended it all with a great read on the swede.

Mike Matusow didn't get his nickname "The Mouth" for nothing. If he has something on his mind, no matter what it might be, you can bet on it that he will speak out loud. In a recent radio interview, Mike Matusow said that he cant understand why people want to watch a maniac/idiot like Isildur1 playing poker. Matusow said that he would like to play against Isildur1 and crush him at the limits he's playing - "not fucking nosebleed stakes".

Its not hard to understand that Mike Matusow don't think much of the mysterious swede as poker player, even though he used to play high stakes online like a maniac back in the days when he had the bankroll to do so. Maybe he's just angry because Isildur1 got so much attention and he didn't? Well, he shouldn't be angry. I mean, he never been even close to as successful as Isildur1 online. His live career is a different story though.

Day 5 of the EPT San Remo Main Event is over. It was a big surprise to many (also disappointing) that EPT Snowfest winner Allan Bække, who had a big chip lead in the begin of the day, went out already in 12th place. Jakob Carlsson (picture), a young unknown swede who was in the lead after Day 3, had a fantastic flow in his game during Day 5 and he's now in a huge lead with a monster stack of 13,525,000 chips.

If he play his cards right at the final table today, then I think he will make it all the way. Well, anything can happen in poker and it will for sure be a very interesting final table to watch, even if Carlsson is first out! Lots of money is up for grabs! May the best man win!

Lots of money in the bank and looking for a luxury house in Las Vegas? Then this house might be something for you. Phil Ivey's house in Vegas is for sale at the moment to the prize of $1,995,000. It took less than 6 hours of play before Day 4 of EPT San Remo came to an end. The final three tables are now set, and there are 24 players left in the tournament. Allan Baekke, EPT Snowfest winner, played fantastic poker during day 4 and he's now in a big lead with 3,483,000 chips. In second and third place are Dermot Blain (2,568,000) and Dmitry Stelmak (2,284,000). Yesterday, we were writing that many swedes had been doing extremely well in the tournament.

Well, they are still doing well, even though neither of them are in the very top anymore. Anyhow, 4 of 5 who started the day still have a good chance of making it to tomorrow's final table. However, I really doubt that anyone of them will win the tournament if the top 3 players (Allan Baekke, Dermot Blain, Dmitry Stelmak) at the moment continue playing this well. I think one of them will take down the tournament.

Rumors that the mystery swede Isildur1 is going to play at EPT in Monte Carlo have been been circulating on the web for the past few days. The rumors started after that a Swedish blogger (apparently with good connections to the EPT crew) wrote in her blog that Isildur1 already has signed up for a tournament at EPT Monte Carlo.

She really believes that Isildur1 wont cancel this time since he already paid the expensive buy-in and also because he can be more anonymous than in the Big Game. However, she makes it clear that she wont make a "Tony G" and put her hopes up too high. 

As expected, the main event of EPT San Remo attracted a lot of players this time as well. Not less than 1240 signed up for the tournament and created a massive prize pool of €6,014,000. After 3 days of play, 64 players have survived and will return today to play Day 4 of the tournament. Among these 64 players we find EPT Snowfest champ Allan Bække, Joe Serock, PCA champ Harrison Gimbel and a few other notable players.

Many Swedish players have been doing extremely well in the tournament so far. Not less than 5 swedes still have the chance of reaching the final table. In fact, all of them are in the top of the field, and I would be really surprised if not at least 1-2 of them make it to the final table.

Due to popular demand, our weekly $200 freeroll at Party Poker will return as of May. Just like before, the freerolls will be held Sunday evenings (European) time and have the same requirements:

1) Your account must be created through BankrollMob links. After all, we do give you either a free $100 no deposit bonus or a $50 gift offer bonus when signing up, so why not take advantage of that? As for the $50 gift offer, it used to require a deposit of $50 (and so you would get a $50 refund from us), but in April it's only a $25 deposit required and you still get a $50 refund - plus you get access to an exclusive $500 freeroll in May (not related to our weekly $200 freerolls).

2) You must have earned 50 Party Points in the month prior, up until the Wednesday before the freeroll. Example: A freeroll is Sunday May 16th, so you must have earned 50 Party Points between April 1st and Wednesday May 12th.

Once all the details have been worked out, we will publish the freerolls in our Freerolls section as usual.

According to one of Sweden's biggest newspaper, a famous Swedish poker player, who has become rich from playing poker, has been charged with assault. The poker player, whose name isn't public yet, has kicked and punched another man in a queue to a hot dog stand in central Stockholm on November 29 last year.

The poker player has admitted to the police that he was drunk that night, but he denies that he assaulted anyone. The victim is asking for a bit more than 500 euro in compensation for what he paid for visiting different doctors for his physical pain. If witnesses can confirm that the assaulted man's story is true, then its probably just for the poker millionaire to pay. If he's really lucky, he might get away with just paying the damages, which shouldn't hurt his bankroll so much. However, if he has sponsors, it might be a bit more expensive if they decide to end the deal.

Many big names were sent packing during the first starting day of the EPT San Remo Main Event - Erick Lindgren, Chad Brown and many more. In the end of the day, 299 out of 585 players made it through to Day 2. Among these 299 players we, unfortunately, don't find many notable players at all in the top of the field. Far down in the field we can find a few notables however, Luca Pagano, Dario Minieri, as well as former winner Arnaud Mattern.

Day 1b of EPT San Remo kicks off in a few hours time. Lets hope that the second starting day will be more interesting to follow than Day 1a. In other words, we want to see more big names in the top of the field.

Jason Mercier took the chip lead at the final table after that he had eliminated both Shawn Buchanan and Matt Glantz. However, he was not the only one playing fantastic poker at the final table and soon he had to give way for another player. Sam Stein, an American poker pro who has won close to 1,4 million dollars through his career, was for sure the best player at the final table. He made very few mistakes and always seemed to have a good read on his opponents.

Anyhow, when he and Mercier were the 2 last men standing, they had quite even stacks. It nearly took 4 hours before it all came to an end. The key pot in this heads up, which gave Jason Mercier a big lead (and also the win a few hands later), was actually a coin flip. Jason went all in with pocket threes and Stein called with AJ. Stein flopped a pair of jacks and was the big favorite to take home the pot and the tournament, but Jason Mercier got really lucky as he made a straight thanks to lucky turn and river cards.

George Lind, one of PokerStars´ newest members, is really the king when it comes to accumulating VIP points at PokerStars. Just listen to this. In just one month's time he earned 500,000 vip points back in 2007. The next year (2008), he reached the Supernova Elite level in less than 3 months and also became the first player ever to accumulate more than 3 million points in a year. This year, he's the first person to reach the Supernova Elite level once again! According what he writes in his blog, he's aiming to accumulate 4 million vip points this year!

As you probably can imagine, it's not a walk in the park to accumulate as many points as George Lind. Just check out his stats for this year so far.
