PartyPoker announced on October 1st that it was going to make several changes in the poker software over the coming weeks to create a playing environment that is fun and exciting for all players regardless of their bankroll or their level of experience.
Pokerfest, a tournament series with 80 events and a $2.5 million guaranteed prize pool, was supposed to start yesterday, but at the end of last week Partypoker announced that they had decided to postpone Pokerfest one month (Sunday, 25th October 2015) due to some performance issues following an update of the poker software. Partypoker will add a $50,000 freeroll to the Pokerfest schedule (date and time to be announced later on) as compensation for the inconvenience caused.
"I apologise to our loyal players for having to delay this highly anticipated event. With a total prize pool of $2,500,000 up for grabs, we are not willing to take even the slightest risk with our players' experience during the 80 events that make up Pokerfest. To make-up for the inconvenience, we have added a $50,000 freeroll to the updated schedule in appreciation of our customers' loyalty."
80 Pokerfest events with $2.5 million in guaranteed prize pools will be played on partypoker from 27th September through 11th October. The tournament series offers everything from a $5 re-buy event with a $10,000 guarantee to a $2,100 Super High roller event with a $150,000 guarantee.

The televised final table at the World Poker Tour Montreal Main Event concluded yesterday with Derrick Rosenbarger as the champion! Rosenbarger, from Clovis, New Mexico, began the final table in 5th place and was well behind chip leader Sylvain Siebert (8.4m), Serge Cantin (6.9m) and Mukul Pahuja (5.9m).
The Main Event's player field was narrowed down from 59 to the final 18 in just six hours in Day 3, and the survivors will return to the poker tables in a few hours to battle it out for the 6 spots at the televised final table - where the winner will take home half a million dollars!
The current chip leader is Sylvain Sibert who eliminated several players in Day 3 to accumulate the top stack of 2.9 million. On Monday, Tony G blogged about an insane cash game at Kings Club in Prague, Czech Republic. According to himself, he lost about €500,000 in a €2k/€4k cash game the first day. The same day as that cash game took place he also played a €10,000 High Roller (rebuy) event, but he decided to skip Day 2 and let his average stack get blinded off.

Yesterday the first starting day of World Poker Tour Prague (re-entry event - 3 starting days) kicked off and saw a field of 115 players. 54 of them made it through the day, and Pasi Jaakko Heinanen (picture) from Finland had the largest pile of chips (193,800) when the tournament director called it a day. Today it's time for Day 1B and famous players such as Liv Boeree and Kevin MacPhee will make sure that it will be a thrilling day of poker.
Tony G recently provided poker lessons to six players of the Manchester United soccer team (Refael da Silva, Phil Jonas, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, Jonny Evans and Danny Welbeck) for a charity tournament arranged by the club and filmed for MUTV. Tony G didn't take part in the tournament but he provided commentary for the broadcast. Evans, who plays as defender for his club, eventually took down the title after defeating Fletcher heads-up to retain the title he won last year.
Yesterday Tony G updated his blog with a video to show all "non-believers" that Tony Resort is a real place. According to Tony G, his own little paradise is guarded by his German Shepherd Nordas, and Ralph Perry (Russian poker pro) is not welcome.

On November 4th the long-awaited Autumn $1 Million ($1,000,000 guaranteed) will be played on Party Poker. The tournament kicks off at 13:30 ET and the buy-in will be $600 + $40. According to the latest report by an online poker tracking site, the poker traffic has dropped by 0.6 percent in the past 7 days. PokerStars dropped 13 percent in the past week after climbing 17 percent the week before. The main reason for this big change is that PokerStars' 85 Billionth Hand promotion started and came to an end during this period. However, PokerStars is by far the biggest and strongest online poker room with about 22,000 real-money players over the past 7 days.

World Poker Tour's host Mike Sexton is disgusted with the lack of professionalism by some poker pros. In fact, he's so angry and annoyed that he wrote a blog on the matter yesterday - "Poker Pros - Wake Up and Smell the Coffee". Mike Sexton writes that he thinks poker should have a dress code just like in any sport.
Also, he thinks that poker players should be more responsible and on time for interviews and tournaments, full fill all media requests, sign autographs and take pictures with fans when asked etc. Sexton thinks that all these things are extremely important for the future of poker.

Recently PartyPoker introduced anonymous heads-up tables in the poker client. The new tables will, for example, give beginners a much better chance against the more experienced players as different tracking programs won't do no good. It ended up being 19-year-old Marek Sosnowski from Poland who took home Party Poker's Drive the Dream tournament this weekend. For the win he got an 2010 Aston Martin DBD9 Coupe, a very luxurious car worth around $150,000. However, there's a small problem - the winner doesn't have a drivers license! Due to a human error at Party Poker, our WSOP freeroll for May 10th didn't go as planned. Unfortunately, mistakes sometimes happen, so there's nothing else to do than to reschedule and give it another go.
We intend to reschedule the May 10th freeroll for Thursday May 13th instead. It's possible that the tournament will start 5-15 minutes later than usual, since we will be having two WSOP freerolls on Thursday (the normal one, and the one from May 10th).

If for some reason you are not able to make it for Thursday, and you were supposed to play May 10th, then all you have to do, is not show up.
