This year’s World Poker Tour Montreal circuit in partnership with partypoker LIVE has wrapped up right after the Main Event final table has finally crowned its winner, and would you believe it – a poker player named Geoffrey Hum, whose biggest live cash before this event was at C$ 19,500 ($14,942) only, outdid all of his opponents, even the seasoned ones.

Mike Sexton grabbed his first WPT title and C$425,980* ($317,896* USD) in prize money early this morning after besting a field of 648 entries over several days of play in the WPT Montreal Main Event! But it wasn't a smooth journey to the title for the Poker Hall of Famer and WPT commentator.

Poker Hall of Fame member and WPT commentator Mike Sexton only had 10 big blinds after Day 2 and 18 big blinds after Day 3, yet he will enter the 6-handed WPT Montreal Main Event final table today with the biggest stack! Sexton finished Day 4 by eliminating Day 3 chip leader Samuel Gagnon in seventh place to take the chip lead.

On Tuesday evening, Day 3 ended with just 17 players remaining in the Season XV partypoker.net World Poker Tour® Montreal Main Event at Playground Poker Club.
Samuel Gagnon will lead the remaining players into Day 4 with 3,350,000 (112 big blinds). Gagnon and the other remaining players are now guaranteed to take home CAD $22,230 each with the chance of becoming the champion for CAD €425,980!

50 players out of 648 entries are all that remain in the partypoker.net WPT Montreal Main Event after Day 2 concluded last night. Day 3 kicks of at 12:00 local time today with the average stack at approx. 390k or 39 big blinds. Belgian pro Michael Gathy (over $2.2 million in live tournament earnings) will lead the way with 860k (86 big blinds) and not far behind are Ema Zajmovic and Tam Ho with around 800k in chips each.

After three starting days, Day 2 of the $2,000,000 partypoker.net WPT Montreal Main Event will start today at noon local time. The blinds will resume at 600-1,200 with a 200 ante, and the remaining field is scheduled to play nine one-hour levels.

The 2015 partypoker World Poker Tour Montreal Main Event drew a field of 697 players. Day 3, which was played yesterday, saw the return of 63 of those players but only 16 of them made it through five 90-minute levels of play.
The remaining squad of players will be led into Day 4 by Trevor Delaney with 3.2 million in chips. Delaney and his opponents will battle for a seat at the six-handed televised final table, where $354,001 is awaiting the last man standing!

Due to many deep stacks and relatively low blinds, it took many hours of play for a field of 18 players to be narrowed down to a final table of 6 in Day 4 of the partypoker WPT Montreal Main Event. Jonathan Jaffe (picture) held the chip lead when Day 4 kicked off and he also bagged up the largest pile of chips when the final table had been reached after 9 PM local time.

The televised final table at the World Poker Tour Montreal Main Event concluded yesterday with Derrick Rosenbarger as the champion! Rosenbarger, from Clovis, New Mexico, began the final table in 5th place and was well behind chip leader Sylvain Siebert (8.4m), Serge Cantin (6.9m) and Mukul Pahuja (5.9m).

The Main Event's player field was narrowed down from 59 to the final 18 in just six hours in Day 3, and the survivors will return to the poker tables in a few hours to battle it out for the 6 spots at the televised final table - where the winner will take home half a million dollars!
The current chip leader is Sylvain Sibert who eliminated several players in Day 3 to accumulate the top stack of 2.9 million. Other players that will bring +2 million stacks to Day 4 include Derrick Rosenbarger (2,875,000), Alexandre Lavigne (2,197,000), Antoine Berube (2,156,000), Marco Cannizzaro (2,156,000) and Mukul Pahuja (2,003,000)

Ladies and gentlemen, the record field (1,173) at the 2012 World Poker Tour Montreal Main Event has now been narrowed down to only 6 players and a final table. The action will start at 4:00pm ET today and there is about 23 minutes left in Level 31, with blinds at 60k-120k and a 20k ante.

A total field of 1,173 players signed up for the 2012 World Poker Tour Montreal Main Event, which destroyed the old Canadian WPT record of 504 players. Day 1a, Day 1b and Day 2 are now in the books and there are only 45 players left when Day 3 kicks off tonight. The chip leader is Jeff Gross with 2,422,000 chips. Gross held over 2 million chips when he played one of the biggest pots of Day 2 to eliminate Josh Kimmel and get a stranglehold on the chip lead.
Notables such as Michael Mcdonald (1.59 million, 2nd place), Gavin Smith (1.2 million), Ashton Griffin (455k) and Dan Smith (306k) will join Gross at the tables today. All the remaining players are guarateed at least $12,535 each. The winner will take home $779,710 and become a part of Canadian WPT history.

The World Poker Tour has landed in Montreal, Quebec for the 2012 WPT Montreal. Day 1A kicks off at 11:00 EST today. The buy-in for the Main Event is $3,000 + $300 (CAD) and a large field of players are expected to turn up. It's a re-entry tournament featuring two Day 1, so there will for sure be a nice prize pool.
