During a Texas Hold 'em tournament at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Southbridge on the night of March 16, 2012, a Massachusetts man "sucker punched" a 45-year-old man, who he believed had insulted his girlfriend, in the face so he fell to the floor. Former Liverpool and Manchester City winger Albert Riera, 32, has been under fire in the past few days. Reason? Due to many deep stacks and relatively low blinds, it took many hours of play for a field of 18 players to be narrowed down to a final table of 6 in Day 4 of the partypoker WPT Montreal Main Event. Jonathan Jaffe (picture) held the chip lead when Day 4 kicked off and he also bagged up the largest pile of chips when the final table had been reached after 9 PM local time.

As soon as the partypoker WPT UK Main Event was about to finish this weekend, the 2014 partypoker WPT Montreal Main Event kicked off in Canada. The tournament attracted 732 players and the final 49 players will return today for Day 3. Out in front is Maduka Meragal with 1,423,000 in chips - about 350k more than Marc-Andre Ladocuer in second place.

The partypoker WPT UK main event concluded this weekend with 21-year-old Matas Cimbolas from Lithuania as the champion. Cimbolas outlasted a very tough field of 354 entries over 4 days of play to lay hands on the biggest payday of his career - £200,000. What makes his victory even more fantastic is that he faced a 6:1 chip deficit at one point during the heads-up against Ben Warrington.

In case you missed it, Rafa Nadal ended up winning the heads-up challenge called "The Duel"' against fellow PokerStars' SportStar and Brazilian football legend Ronaldo. The heads-up match took place on Tuesday at the Hippodrome Casino in London. A winner was not determined until the very last hand of the 20-minute battle.

51 players of 354 entries remain after three days of intensive play in the World Poker Tour UK Main Event. Adrian Mateos will lead the remaining pack into Day 2, which begins at 1pm local time, with a stack of 560,500. Mateos was the Day 1A chip leader before Day 1B generated a new one, Fred Wise of England, who is still alive with 111,000 chips.

Felix Stephensen from Norway collected an incredible $5,147,911 when he finished second to Martin Jacobson in the 2014 WSOP Main Event about 1,5 week ago. However, it doesn't seem like he will be able to enjoy his massive payday for much longer as the Norwegian tax department is after half of his winnings.
