Welcome mobsters, if you are reading this blog for the very first time, I thank you for your initial interest. I think that if you give it a little time, you will find something that will peak your interest.
I am a semi-pro poker player and an author. I am currently working on several projects for publication, and will be discussing them on occasion in this blog. If you are a fan then I warn you, from time to time there will be spoiler book ideas discussed.
As you may have read in my last piece, being the Prince of Freerolls doesn't exactly pay the bills. You can't pay for dinner with tournaments tickets, you know?
But what does, sort of, pay the bills is working as a Poker Dealer at one of them live poker places. The ones where you someone has to count out the bet sizes every time, and the ones where you usually don't have the correct combinations and chips, and some poor sap has to give you change every time.

A big congratulations to Sotirios Koutoupas, the winner of the European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event! Koutoupas, 31, bested a field of 671 players, incudling Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov heads-up - who had the chance to complete poker's triple crown (EPT, WPT and WSOP titles), to lay hands on the €614,000 first place prize, an exclusive Slyde watch, a large trophy, and (possibly best of all) he became the first ever Greek champion after almost 10 full season of the EPT!
"It was my time now, it was my time to win," Koutoupas said. "I was very lucky today in some situations, but that's poker. Everything went well for me."

Section 1: Poker Tips & Concepts Today's tip is a very important one for players who are constantly being forced to reload their bankrolls. You need to ask yourself some hard questions. Things you might not want to really face about yourself.
It is possible that you have really just been unlucky and that variance has just been totally kicking your teeth in repeatedly. However you might need to face the very real possibility that you have some major leaks in your poker game. If you are constantly losing money over a long time then you are a losing pla want to really face about yourself.
My bankroll has grown over 3K and I have started to play higher limit SnG's and moved to $20 and $50, and also once in a while taking shots at the $60 buy-in SnG's...depending on what players been sitting at the tables.

I’m looking at my bankroll right now and it says $0.34. Over the last six months it’s said anywhere between $0.00 and $12.56, but right now it says $0.34. Thirty four cents. About the same price as a Milky Bar, or one of them crappy candles that are about the size of the ‘OK’ sign you can make with your hand.
Thirty four cents is not a lot of money, but I dread to think how many hours I took to earn it. How much that thirty cents has cost me in blood.
Only 16 players remain after 4 days of intensive play at the EPT Deauville Main Event. The remaining players have already outlasted 96% of the field, but only 50% of the remaining players will make it to the final table. Sotirios Koutiupas holds the lead heading into Day 5 with 2.6 million in chips. The Greek poker professional had a runner-up finish at EPT9 Prague. Will he get his first EPT title now?
Now, the biggest name among the remaining 16 is, of course, Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov from Ukraine. Katchalov will enter the 5th day of play 10th in chips with a below average 1 million. However, he is by far the most experienced of the remaining players, so don't be surprised if he's among the finalists tomorrow, fighting for the first prize of €614,00, a Slyde watch, the trophy and not to forget Poker's Triple Crown! (EPT, WPT and WSOP titles).
On Tuesday, Todd Brunson tweeted that a well-known poker figure had been caught red-handed stealing chips from another player at the Bellagio. The victim of the crime (a player from Japan, described as "The Jap") noticed that $800 had gone missing from his pile of chips after returning from the bathroom. The dealer informed the floor manager, who in turn asked security to check the cameras. They quickly found out that three-time WSOP bracelet winner Chau Giang, 58, was the man behind the crime.
This is my first post to the blog and I will start with a brief introduction of myself. Here we go! I am a young guy from Finland with 2 dreams in life: to become a tennis professional and/or become a poker professional (of course!).

First things first (for those who don't know the story already). On January 18th the New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement cancelled the opening event ($2 million guarantee prizeopool) of the 2014 Borgata Winter Poker Open after concluding that someone had used a significant number of counterfeit chips in the tournament. On Friday, AP (Associated Press) reported that Christian Lusardi, 42, was arrested in Atlantic City in connection with the Borgata chip cheating scandal.
The 2014 Turbo Championship of Online Poker kicked off yesterday with four action-packed tournaments. The fast-paced tournament series is running until February 2, 2014, with over $15 million in prize money spread across 50 events! TCOOP offers buy-ins for all bankrolls and (as always) there are cheap satellites to all events running around the clock. The Main Event ($700 buy-in) is scheduled for February 2 and the winner is guaranteed to take home at least $300k from the $2 million prize pool!
The Swedish Full Tilt Poker Professional Viktor "Isildur1" Blom is on an incredible winning streak at the moment! Don Johnson is a living legend in the world of Blackjack. During a period of six months, the 50-year-old Pennsylvanian businessman and high roller won $15 million at Blackjack tables in Atlantic City's casinos ($6 million from the Tropicana, $5 million from the Borgata and $4 million from Caesar's). He doesn't cheat, count cards or steal. How did he do it? Check out the video below (The Player: Secrets of a Vegas Whale) to find out!
