Note: Daylight Savings Time (DST) - the time has changed 1 hour

Tags: dst, freerolls, timezone.
Posted on 30 October 2011 by "K".

Just a reminder, that today we went back to "winter time", so clocks were set 1 hour back.

www.BankrollMob.com runs in the GMT timezone which does not change, it has the same time all year round. However, our Party Poker leaderboard freerolls now run 1 hour later compared to before, so be sure to check the tournaments to make sure you're aware of the new kick-off times etc.

As for GMT, during winter, if you're in the CET timezone, you would be 1 hour ahead of GMT (ie. GMT+1) and 2 hours ahead during Summer (GMT+2). We recommend World Time Buddy to keep track of the timezone differences.

Posted on 28 October 2011 by "T".

The final table of EPT San Remo ended up being a very thrilling one, and it ended up being Andrey Pateychuck from Russia and Dimitar Danchev from Bulgaria who played heads-up for the title. Both players made a deal (winner would get €680k and the runner-up €600k) and started what turned into an almost 3 hour long heads-up with some sick hands. The heads-up was extremely swingy and it was impossible to say who would walk away with the trophy.

It hasn't been a good year for Richard "nutsinho" Lyndaker so far on PokerStars. In total, he's down about $900,000 and among the biggest losers online. Lyndaker is usually a pretty calm person when it comes to big losses. Lately, however, he's been talking a bit about his bad poker sessions on twitter, and some of these tweets indicate that he's about to quit poker.

EPT San Remo: 24 players left - McClung is still in the lead

Tags: Christopher McClung, ept san remo, johnny lodden, pokerstars.
Posted on 26 October 2011 by "T".

Christopher McClung, from Canada, arrived as chip leader when Day 4 of EPT San Remo kicked off yesterday. When the day had come to an end, McClung had boosted his 1,2 million stack to an amazing 3,1 million - most of those chips came from a hand when he knocked out Joseph Cheong with flush vs set of kings. McClung's 3,1 million stack gives him a 1.1 million lead over Daniel Neilson in 2nd place.

Just as planned, the Day 4 field was played down to 24 players who will return to the poker room today and play it down to a final table, which will take place tomorrow with live stream. Among the players who still have chips left one can find quite a few interesting names. Just to mention a few: Barny Boatman with 1,25 million, Johnny Lodden with 1,2 million, Lex Veldhuis with 877k, and Elio Fox with 377k.

The person Antonius is referring to is Noah "NoahSD" Stephens-Davidowitz, and Antonius is very concerned how he got his account balance and why he's telling everyone about such a confidential information.

ThePokerTrader.com has specialized in educating poker players and converting their already strategic way of thinking and skill based approach and turning them into winners on the financial markets.
By identifying the similarities between poker and financial trading, ThePokerTrader.com offers an opportunity to learn how to apply your poker skills in financial markets that trades $3.7 trillion dollars every day.

So what are the similarities?
The whole mentality of poker players is to get the edge, find the fish, and calculate possible risk and success in percentages terms. This translates directly into the kind of attitude and plan you needed to trade any financial product, from FX, to stocks, CFDs and futures.
Another major appeal of poker is the ability to play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there always seems to be a table to play at. Also the money involved is the biggest it has ever been with games to suit all budgets. Again, this translates directly to the financial markets and trading. The FX markets for example allow anyone to trade currency 24 hours a day 5 days a week.
The below poker terms parallels into financial trading:

ONLINE POKER ONLINE TRADING
Strategy -The systems and rules you put in place to minimise risk and maximise profits. Analysis - Fundamental and technical analysis of information to trade and make profits.
Rake - The amount taken out of every pot by the game provider. Spread - The amount taken by the market provider to pay for each trade.
Rake back - The amount offered to players for loyalty and turnover. Rebates - The amount offered back to traders for volume of business.
Bot - Short for "robot". A program that plays poker online with no (or minimal) human intervention. Black box - A computer algorithm that trades in the markets for profit.
Bad Beat - To have a band that is a large urxierdog beat a heavily favored hand. Swings - To go with the market trend and still lose money.
Table - Where you see and play your opponents. Platform - Where you see the market and the prices you wish to trade.
