NYY: Following an off-day on Thursday, the Yankees will open a three-game series against the Rays on Friday at Yankee Stadium. Right-hander Luis Severino (2-2, 2.17 ERA) will make his sixth big league start, seeking his third consecutive victory. He blanked the Braves over six innings his last time out in a 3-1 win last Saturday in Atlanta.
BOS: Coming off a perfect August (6-0, 2.68 ERA), right-hander Joe Kelly will try to keep it going in September when he opens a three-game series against the Phillies on Friday night at Fenway Park. Kelly was strong last time out against the Mets, giving up one run over 7 1/3 innings.

CLE: The Tribe will send hard-throwing righty Danny Salazar (12-7, 3.27 ERA) to the mound for Saturday's 7:08 p.m. ET divisional clash with the Tigers. Over his past seven outings, Salazar has posted a 2.12 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 46 2/3 innings. On Monday in Toronto, he held the Blue Jays to one run over seven innings, ending with 10 strikeouts and one walk.
DET: Alfredo Simon, who gave up four Blue Jays home runs in his last start Sunday at Toronto, will try to rebound against an Indians lineup he has beaten three times in as many meetings this season, though all before mid-June.

TOR: Right-hander Marco Estrada will get the call when the Blue Jays close out their three-game series against the Orioles on Sunday afternoon at 1:07 p.m. ET. Coming off his first loss since June 20, left-hander Francisco Liriano will try to start another winning streak as he takes the mound for the Bucs.
CIN: Raisel Iglesias, who will start Tuesday's game against the Pirates, has a streak of seven quality starts and a 2.32 ERA in those games. Cincinnati is also expected to activate center fielder Billy Hamilton from the disabled list and place him in the starting lineup.
