Last weekend the biggest pot (online) ever was played at Full Tilt on one of their highstakes tables. The pot reached the amount of $723 000, and with that it beats the old record of $607 000. Involved in this monster pot were "durrrr", Phil Ivey, "urindanger" and Gus Hansen. Winner of the pot was "urindanger" and he left the table after winning about $650 000!

Last weekend World Heads Up Poker Championship in Barcelona was settled. The 2 last man standing were Jonas "Nebuchad" Danielsson (Scandinavian Online Player of the year) from Sweden and Mauro Stivoli from Italy. Mauro was the better poker player in the final and took down the most important pots. Jonas was quite short stacked straight away and decided to move all in with k-2. Mario called almost instantly with k-j and his hand stood up all the way to the river.

Mauro Stivoli was rewarded with €65 000 and also the title "World Champion in Heads up poker"
Jonas Danielsson received €35 000 for his second place.

Phil Ivey is the owner of 5 WSOP bracelets, one WPT Trophy and one victory in the Monte Carlo Millions. It will soon be all over for the online poker room of World Poker Tour. A few years ago World Poker Tour opened their own poker client on the Cryptoligic Network in order to host online satellites to their land based tournaments. This did not work out as well as they thought it would and when the UIGEA passed they were no longer able to accept players from the US which made it hard to compete with the big poker rooms like Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. After a court decision back in 1998 the exclusive rights to offer poker within the country to Holland casino has been granted because it has been seen as a game of luck.

Day 1 in the WSOPE Event #3, £5,000 Pot Limit Omaha ended a few days ago. Only 45 out of the 165 players survived the day.

One of the first players out were Gus Hansen. Also french player David Benyamine and last years Main Event winner from Norway, Anette Obrestad, were busted out during the 8 hours of play at day one.
