Canadiens team scope: Price (lower-body injury) won't return before the end of the week, coach Michel Therrien said Tuesday, so rookie Mike Condon is expected to make his sixth straight start. "[It's] an opportunity for [Condon] to show what he can do and he's done that so far." Pacioretty said. "It's a little bit of motivation for us as well to open up some eyes. We've done a good job at it so far, but we've got to keep improving." Montreal is 4-0-1 in its past five games, all with Condon in goal. Forwards David Desharnais and Tomas Plekanec have goals in consecutive games. Desharnais has seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past five games.
Penguins team scope: Pittsburgh had a scheduled off day Tuesday. Forward Pascal Dupuis practiced Monday and could return to the lineup after missing two games. Dupuis was taken to a hospital prior to the game Friday against the Edmonton Oilers for precautionary reasons. Tests for a blood clot, which ended Dupuis' 2014-15 season, were negative. "It was something I saw on my leg that didn't seem right," Dupuis said Monday. "We play a contact sport. I blocked a shot or got slashed. Everything happens so fast that I don't even remember how it happened. I just had to make sure." Forward Phil Kessel has goals in consecutive games and a three-game point streak (two goals, two assists).

Pittsburgh-Columbus BJ 01:00 1,90 3,90 3,20
Blue Jackets team scope: Columbus placed forward Alexander Wennberg (foot) on injured reserve Wednesday; he could miss two weeks. That likely means Rene Bourque will be in the lineup. Forward Ryan Johansen missed practice Wednesday but coach John Tortorella said Johansen should be in the lineup. Columbus led the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 halfway through the third period before allowing three straight goals in a 5-3 loss on Tuesday. "The goals we gave up [Tuesday] were way too easy," Tortorella said. "We worked hard for our chances. … and gave up too many easy goals. ... We did not complete the game the proper way away from the puck. I'm sure it's disappointing for them, they're very disappointed, because we were there. We played a good game. You have to learn how to finish those games, and we didn't."
Penguins team scope: Pittsburgh coach Mike Johnston said he would use Marc-Andre Fleury and Jeff Zatkoff each one game this weekend; the Penguins play at the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. Fleury took a stick to the face on Wednesday and temporarily left the game but returned a few minutes later. Malkin and forward Matt Cullen didn't practice Thursday, but Johnston said it was a maintenance day and they were under the weather. Captain Sidney Crosby admitted he hasn't seen Columbus play this season but knows what Tortorella brings to teams. "If you go back to the other team's Tortorella has coached, it's pretty aggressive style, the 'D' are up in the play and it's aggressive," Crosby said after practice Thursday. "I would expect probably much of the same." Letang agreed: "I think they block shots, they play a pretty intense game, they finish their checks and play a physical game."
